Not bad.

Valencia have confirmed that Everton will have an option to purchase Manuel Fernandes on a permanent deal when, as expected, he joins the Premier League club on loan in the coming days.

The Portugal international has arrived on Merseyside to undergo a medical and is expected to agree to return to the club having enjoyed a successful 11-game spell on loan with The Toffees last season before joining Valencia in a £12 million deal.

Confirming that the two clubs have come to an agreement over a loan switch for the midfielder, Valencia also revealed that Everton will have the chance to finalise a permanent deal should they wish to do so.

"Valencia and the English club Everton have reached an agreement by which the Portuguese midfield player Manuel Fernandes will play in England on loan until the end of the season," read a club statement.

"The agreement includes an option of purchase on the part of the British club."

Brilliant. He's a must buy. Somewhere on youtube there are highlights of his game against Arsenal last year and he's amazing.

See also the goal against United. Top drawer, that was.

:D I have fond memories of that goal. I jumped about 2 metres in front of my seat from a sitting position when that went in! Sensational.

There's a chance that he could feature tonight, fingers crossed he does.

Hibbert's defending was great today! Shame his distribution hasn't gotten any better..

Fernandes HAS officially signed in. :D

Hibbert played well for Hibbert. He can defend decently at times, the problem is he offers nothing going forward.

Fernandes straight into midfield, Neville to defence and Hibbert gone= Everton looking good.

Howard,Neville,Jagielka,Lescott,Baines,Carsley,Arteta, Fernandes,Cahill,Johnson,Anichebe. Starting 11 I would go for at Wigan. Johnson should be declared fit.

Well we've made one transfer market move, and hopefully if he does well we can keep him, I see him as creative even though Nipped Brainsteam/Tucked Frontal Lobe thinks differently.

Reckon we will move more? Gosling isn't signed sealed and delivered yet, but should be soon hopefully, but he's a future prospect at right back (thank god for that). Talks about Downing and Van Byuten persist, although Van Byuten would only backup in the EPL as he is probably cup tied with Bayern.. plus we have 3 DC's for a month, surely we dont need another (Rodwell can always play on the bench). A striker perhaps? dont really need one... can't see too many moves coming at the moment, its a settled squad and once South Africa get knocked out in the first round Pienaar will be back. (Even though he is crap!!)

What does everyone think about us selling Faddy to Birmingham (if it does go through), I think it will bite us on the backside big time. So talented, a bit underused and out of position. He has a problem in the fact that Moyes sees him in one game, if he doesnt play well he doesnt get another start usually.

I have been a massive fan of Faddy for ages now, he is extremely talanted but not given enough of a go to get matches under his belt and really shine. It is good in a way that we have a player as talented as him who is unable to break into the team.

McFadden is average. 4 or 5 Mill= good profit for Everton for a player who has generally been poor in his time. Yes he has been a victim a bit of being in and out of the side and not being settled. The problem is he will only be depth at Everton.

Rodwell has a huge future, but only 16 years of age I think it is a very very big ask having him in the first team squad at this stage.

I think Anichebe, Johnson and Vaughan provide enough depth up front while Yakubu is away.

Midfield has always been the major worry. But with Fernandes now onboard and Osman back in training, along with............... Van Der Meyde:p we may be ok for the time being.

Moyes said: "Joleon has been ruthless in front of goal but maybe not ruthless enough, because I want him to get 10 goals. If he wants to be a proper centre-half he could get 10 goals a season.
"I remember the likes of Tony Adams, Derek Mountfield, David Moyes all getting 10 goals so I am looking for Joleon to do the same," quipped the Everton boss.

Funny funny man!

I agree with Sheeds, McFadden is average. Not good enough for a team that is pushing for Champions League qualification. We should sell him for nothing less than 4mil though.

We've got enough cover at CB so I don't see the Van Buyten move coming through. I think we need one more midfielder, just to bolster our options and depth to stop Neville and Carsley being in the same midfield ever again. Don't get me wrong, Carsley is a great DM and Neville is a decent RB, but they're not a good centre midfield pairing.

Well that was an interesting move. Lose a central defender, get one on loan.. one from spurs of all people!!

We lost Anderson Da Silva, who wasn't that good anyway, but we probably made some money out of it.

Pienaar is back, but I wish we had made a deadline deal that made us better... somehow I think they think we are good enough to survive, but I don't know if we are.

We have done poorly in the window. My view is Moyes cannot have his cake and eat it too. He has spent a lot of time bitching and moaning about how small our squad is and lack of numbers. Moyes is going up and down about Cahill going to play for Australia next week potentially and losing players on the ACN. So what do we do?

We get rid of McFadden, Stubbs, Da Silva, Vidarrsson etc are all gone in the last month. Also has players loaned out such as Kissock and a couple of others in the championship. I like Gosling we have signed but he is a project player who will not be ready for a couple of seasons. Apart from this we have only got 2 players in on loan........

Look at the game against Spurs it was a complete and utter joke. Players who are not fit to compete for 90 minutes were forced to be there. Leighton Baines has basically not played for 3 months.... we have no midfielders and he is thrown into it. VDM is not fit to play, but is in the squad because we have not got a choice. Fernandes is not match fit after minimal games for Valencia. Even Osman, out for 6 odd weeks with a broken toe and then straight back into the lineup being asked to play a full game last week.

Looking back on my previous post............ I am in a harsher mood today than previously on our transfer activity.:p

Fernandes is now match fit I reckon, 2 games under his belt. Baines can play midfield, seen him play it before. With cahill missing this week and no stubbs, I see a team of

Howard
Hibbert-Jagielka-Lescott-Valente
Arteta-Neville-Fernandes-Baines/Osman
Johnson-Anichebe/Vaughan

That would leave two of those guys on the bench with Wessels and possibly Rodwell on the bench as a backup CB, maybe Gosling and Gravesen? Thats a small bench.

Gravesen is still injured I believe with his knee. Is Cahill definately playing for Australia then and missing this game?

I am not that confident with Hibbert back into the lineup but may not be a lot of choice.

Outs: Stubbs was getting past it, 36 years old and all. Da Silva, Vidarrson aren't losses. McFadden we made 5 million pounds out of and I rate Vaughan/Anichebe higher than him anyway.

Ins: Fernandes is a great signing, fingers crossed he stays permanently. Gardner is good as a 4th choice CB, and you can't really lose on a loan deal. He would have been brought in just to cover Stubbs til the end of the season. Rodwell is rated highly apparently so maybe Moyes sees him as ready next season?

I'm happy with this window, personally. :) We're slowly getting rid of the deadwood and building squad of players who can all add something to the first eleven.

Howard
Neville-Jagielka-Lescott-Valente
Arteta-Carsley-Fernandes-Baines
AJ-Vaughan

Or even Osman/Cahill (if fit/available) playing behind the lone striker.

Everton 6-1 SK Brann

Another fantastic result for the toffs in europe. Wasn't the greatest game to watch but it was layered with some nice goals, a Yak hat trick and brilliant performances from the likes of AJ... how far can we go??

Feed the Yak and he will score.

I think we can go all the way............

A big league game this week against Man City as well.

BUMP!!!!

Lack of action from us Toffee supporters of late! Massive game this weekend, basically make or break in terms of 4th spot!
