A FORMER star footballer is set to be linked to Melbourne's gangland war when his unexplained relationships with major organised crime figures is made public in court.

The player was observed repeatedly entering a house where an amphetamine laboratory was operating in Melbourne.

He was also the last man to speak to a gangster before he was shot and wounded in a Melbourne street.

For what will become to be known as the 'Jason Akermanis Rule' in defamation case law.
What? Betcha nothing comes of that.

On 3AW this morning Sly said the court docs will name the former player and it will be all over the media. I didn’t catch the timeframe but I didn’t get the impression it was going to be in the immediate future. I would think the media would by and large know the name and a lot more details. I could hazard a guess or three but obviously I won’t here. It will be interesting to see whether in the wake of the garbage about law suits following Aka’s latest dykheadedness the media have the balls to name the person. If they know then at this point they have no exposure. They may be a bit gun shy though.

who needs to name the player?

There's enough clues in this thread that anyone with an ounce of nous and access to Google can find out in about 30 seconds.

I didn't know. I do now

Exactly. I reckon it's pretty bleedin' obvious who it is. There's more info in that article than what Aker published about the whole player on EPO thing.
