Grew up playing with him, he has put on a lot of weight in the past couple of years. Was always a massive kid, but now he's massive full-stop. I hope he gets on the park.

There is a massive difference mate. No Hawthorn or Collingwood supporters are saying Gunston or Witts will be the premier forward in the competition.

The arrogance and ignorance of Geelong supporters now posting on this board is ridiculous. Hawkins had 3 good games for the year and luckily for Geelong they were in the finals. The rest of his year was average at best. But now suddenly hes going to overtake;

Franklin
Cloke
Brown
J.Reiwoldt
N.Reiwoldt
Tippet
Kennedy

and become the best forward in the competition. Please this is an insult to all of these players above.

Any Geelong supporter would trade Hawkins for any of the players listed above.

HA HAWKINS BETTER THAN FRANKLIN OR CLOKE? LET ALONE REIWOLDT, TIPPET OR KENNEDY. YOU ARE A JOKE

Why you so mad brah... someone with a different opinion and you get on your rags... Still hurting over Bateman costing you the Prelim? Or are you worried that someone else might overtake Buddy and you Hawks will have even less to live for... Why you so mad...???

I want to see Polec, Rohan, McKenzie and I Smith run with the ball this year. Lets hope they can all have an injury free run at the season.

I hope GC run Caddy into good form for the bombers next year!!!

For the bombers, apart from hoping for all developing players to have an injury free run, I want to see if Myers, Melksham and Colyer will become players this year. I'm pretty sure Heppell can back up this year but I still don't expect him to improve much from last year until his body becomes a man's, which wont be until he's 21 and 22, but I'd be very happy with two more seasons of the same output as last year. Can Jetta and Ryder put a consistent season delivering on their potential? I know they're not bubs but they could go from talented players to key play makers.

Buntine (Giants) and Dixon and Day (Suns).

Really, I don't know why anyone would be excited by him, to me it seems pretty clear he is going to end up as a trivia question of which player kicked GC first goal only to be delisted a couple of years later, he simply doesn't have the movement or tricks to make it as either a forward or ruck, would be surprised if he plays more than 8-10 games this year before a couple next year then delisted.

Yep..

For me the top few would be Hill, Butch, Rohan and NN.

Probably not this year but I'm pretty pumped about Hayden Crozier.
Was getting schooled by McPharlin in a match sim the other day, couldn't get near it till someone kicked a high ball in at which point he simply stood on the heads of McPharlin & everyone else in the pack. Didn't quite bring it ground but gee it looked good.

For me I'm always excited by the prospect of mature agers coming in and doing well, so I'd be keeping an eye on guys like Horsely from GC, Spurr at the Dockers and Dell'Olio from Essendon.

Even Orren Stephenson will be interesting to follow, see if he can be another J-Pod :thumbsu:

I must have watched the bloke play 40-50 games of football.

He's a decent tap ruckman that can take a mark around the ground. He'll be very serviceable, but he won't be a match winner.

Will be a match winner ala' Jeff Farmer in 3-4 years

He's bloody small.
I think Melbourne have had a few too many really light guys, and that has hurt them overall - the lack of hardness, the bruise free stuff. I don't know that will continue, they might opt for more size & hardness across the board.

I agree. I never said he's going to be a star or anything, I'm just curious to see if he can develop into a decent forward.

You think Malcolm Lynch will hit the ground running?

I meant Tom Lynch from the gold coast.

I totally forgot you guys rookied Malcolm Lynch. The guy had the talent for AFL. Seems to have gotten his act together at Port Melbourne. He should be the exact type of player you guys need. Think he'll be a player if he can get his act together.

If Malcolm Lynch does anything, it'll be pretty quickly IMHO.
He'll either settle in and do what he's been capable of - bloody good little player - or he'll be off by the end of the year. Don't see him hanging around, on his second chance.
