It will be an interesting season. While we have the lame duck HAM and SAI seats this season, we'll also have a lot of other drivers jockeying for the vacant Merc seat (and possible PER seat, among others).
Add in the possibility of Horner being usurped, it has the potential for a lot of uncertainty.

Honestly looks that way. Horner lost a massive ally when Mateschitz died and ever since then there has been a massive power struggle within RBR (and RBGmbH overall) between Horner, Marko and the Austrian side of the RB board.

Marko will sink that place if left unchecked IMO.

I get he's a ruthless prick in a ruthless industry - but at the same time he's not immune to ****ing up and if the infighting starts effecting the RBR team then it can go sideways fast.

And if Newey gets uncomfortable... look out.

Egos work in mysterious ways. The calls on this are coming from above RBR. The "allegations" may be a nothing burger in the end, but Marko and the board apparently have not taken to kindly to Horner trying to seize power/buy his way into RBR ownership, as well as sticking his fingers in the Alpha Tauri Racing Bull pie.

No one thought Montezemolo would have broken up the holy trinity at Ferrari (Todt, Brawn, Schumacher) while they were winning everything but his ego got in the way, so if this is the move by Red Bull GmbH....it wouldn't be without precedent.....

AM, Red Bull and Ferrari have the balance right where the upper parts of the livery are coloured and then blend it into black lower down where they can use unpainted carbon without affecting the look/ability for the car to stand out on the grid

I can't imagine that sponsors would be too happy to be paying some of the teams to be on one of the 10 black cars on the grid that half the people watching can't tell apart from each other

So... I think almost all of the liveries have been released - only Red Bull to go.

Mercedes - mostly black, with a bit of silver
Stake - mostly black, with a bit of lime green
McLaren - 50/50 black & bright orange
Haas - mostly black, with a bit of red
Williams - 50/50 black & darkish blue
Alpine - almost entirely black, with a bit of pink
Visa Cash App - mostly blue & white
Aston Martin - mostly green
Ferrari - mostly red
Red Bull - not yet revealed, probably mostly red & blue

So... 12 of the 20 cars are 50% black, or more - 10 of them are 80% black. Only 4 teams have genuinely distinctive colour schemes (i.e. not mostly black), and that's assuming Red Bull retain their traditional colours.

It's going to be great watching them come off the starting grid, and not having a ****ing clue who is where in the first corner chaos.

Think it's worth waiting to see before we judge that.

They may still stand out from each other. I think the Stake ones definitely will with the neon green.

As someone who has red/green colour blindness, having most of the cars in the field black with tiny little slithers of coloured sections from the red/green colour spectrum, is going to make it a real joy to watch next season....
