Agree. That’s one to target and then of course it boils down to the Showdown.Collingwood are very beatable.
We seem to say that every year

Geelong have stars on all lines. Why do you think we are a better side? We're actually a better side than Geelong. If we turn up in the first quarter we win it. I'm just not sure we'll turn up after the bye.
Northerly winds of 25-35kmph which means they will be cross winds as the grounds run East-West in Vic not North-South like in Adelaide.
Geelong paddock is basically N-S. In the photo, North is vertical to the top of the page.

The peculiarity is the southern skinny right hand pocket (if you're facing north) which, if you attack down that flank, opens up into the fattest of all the pockets. (top right hand in the photo). So many teams are caught out kicking out on the full from that back pocket it's ridiculous. I remember Cameron Ling saying that as soon as they saw an opposition going too wide in that pocket and kicking OOF, particularly late in games, they knew they were going to win because the oppo had no idea how to play the ground. Edit:...are you listening Rory Laird?
Seriously, the shape of the ground is embarrassing.
The Eastern side boundary is almost straight - very similar to the old AO before the redevelopment, which is why the southern RH pocket is shallow as you state. It'd be nice if all grounds were actually somewhat symmetrical! Similar to Prospect Oval in a way, and slightly off centre...Geelong paddock is basically N-S. In the photo, North is vertical to the top of the page.

Nah no.1 team is GWS.It's weird. Geelong are top of the ladder and apart from their usual snoozefest after the bye they've been pretty **** hot. We've been average to good, lost to Brisbane away and fell arse backwards over the line against Melbourne yet somehow people are confident we'll win at our worst ground against the number 1 team in the comp. Madness.
Does that include the bit where the boundary juts inwards and then back out again?Apparently we’re training on Potato Park dimensions this week. Hopefully we’ve set up some giant fans/snow machines blowing across the ground too.
We must be looking at different ladders.Nah no.1 team is GWS.

I've seen cricket grounds in England that are more symmetrical.
Strange they wanted to change that unique shape when the redevelopment happened.LOL. Look at Adelaide Ovals shape before the redevelopment
We must be looking at different ladders.
If we bring our game style and not rock up thinking we’ve already lost. A win on Friday will do massive things for the confidence of the team going forward. The belief instilled would be immeasurable. I hope the boys really fire themselves up for this game and give it a good honest crack.I actually think we win this week. Not sure why I think that, but I just feel like something about our current game style will really trouble Geelong.
So do we.Geelong have stars on all lines. Why do you think we are a better side?
The question this raises is why haven't we done this before now...like every time we play down there? Similarly for the MCG - we need to revise the boundaries of our training ground to suit the oval we're playing on (mind you the MCG isn't easy to emulate, as it's almost round).Apparently we’re training on Potato Park dimensions this week.
