Family Day

We'd love to see everyone out there. I understand there are a few complaints at the venue choice, but Punt Road right now is a construction zone and not really appropriate for 3-4k people to be at one time, especially with all that rain last week the ground was flooded and some areas in the ME Bank Centre were also partially flooded.

We'll have players, merchandise, membership, Clive Peeters will be there with some interactive zones, face painting, 20 lucky kids getting the chance to hand their heroes their jumpers for the year, should be a fun day.

Well thats what we in the north & north/west have been doing for 30 odd years IDGAF.

You guys in the east have had it since day dot, i suppose its only fair that we get a go dont you think !!

But best its held at punt road where everybody is happy :)

Up the Northern Tigers fans.:D

Plenty in these parts too.

It's only one day, Iddy.
The Punt Rd complex is still in Richmond. The social club is still in Richmond. We are still Richmond.
Of the Melbourne-based clubs only us, Western Bulldogs, Carlton and North Melbourne are actually based in their suburbs. The rest moved or are in the process of moving.
Our future in Richmond is shored up long term.
The family day is only one day and I don't have a problem with it.

IIRC, we've technically we don't actually played in Richmond...The border is Punt Road, and we're on the 'wrong' side.

As for those complaining about Cragieburn...We got a MCG sized training ground there, cheap, due to a great deal of assistance from the local council. I don't think having the reserves play there and the occasional 'event' staged there is too high a price to pay for that.

... by dishonouring the former heartland in the east ... heartland consisting mainly of Gen "X"ers who have ridden out 25 years of shyte from this club who by and large have grown up , gotten married and are raising families of their own , for the most part still in Melbournes East..... but now we have to trek to "mars" should we wish to try and instill the Tiger heritage into our kids who for the most part struggle to understand our stout and resolute passion for this club that has let its "heartland" down for so long .

Puzzling

If only you were this keen to go to games still

Carlton are charging 10 bucks a head ( adult) to attend their family day or 25 for a family.

Those money hungry pricks are unreal.

They'll probably count them as members as well!

Good luck with the Family Day all! Sadly will here.

I went,

Good turn out - Benny spoke well. Told a great story about 3 "senior" women who travelled from Frankston, via train, tram, train & bus to get there. One has been a member for 61 years ! Heart and soul stuff. Glad we don't charge 25 bucks for this. My first time to see the facilities out there. All very clean and new. Really is a growing area. Benny also mentioned people had travelled down from Seymour so catered well for those north of melbourne.

The band that played were great.

Clive Peeters have deals for members - good to see . here are some pics

Some of the crowd

The players on stage - nice touch with kids handing them the jumper.

I hear what you are saying iddy but for me it was a lot easier to have it at Craigieburn... nearly an hour less travel time for me from Echuca.
But I would still have rathered to have to travel to Punt Road.
Was a good day>
