JV's team isn't really good enough to bother following. Sorry if that's too harsh
Spoken too soon? His more uniques I remember, I think, in Gaff (117) and Clancee Pearce (95) not too bad this week... dunno how the rest of his teams gone though

JV's team isn't really good enough to bother following. Sorry if that's too harsh
I made two trades this week- Out: C Howard and T Lynch, In: P Hanley and T Couch.
The decision to flick Howard was pretty simple: I figured there wasn't much point carrying a speculative mid-pricer through several weeks of injury. I learnt that lesson with Paul Medhurst a couple of years ago.
I considered downgrading him to a Clarke, Bower or Mohr... but I absolutely loved the look of Hanley's game in round one and really wanted to get him in. I'd been tossing up between him and Broughton as the most expensive defender in my starting team.
So to make the money for an upgrade I needed to move on Lynch. This was a much harder decision. I was completely sold on his point-scoring potential, but massively worried about whether he'd get enough opportunity to display it. He was in and out of my team before round one, and I only locked him in after he was named at CHF for the Suns' game. Then he started as sub... Doh!
He did well to score 38 or so in a half, but my worry heading into rd 2 was he'd be named sub again. If he only had a limited run he'd then be in danger of being dropped back to SANFL to get some match fitness (bearing in mind he'd also been sub in the NAB Cup GF). Kennedy looked like a more than adequate F7 for this time of year, and the Demons are so woeful at the moment it's surely only a matter of time before Couch gets his chance.
When Lynch started in the vest on Saturday night I was feeling ok about my decision. But then Douglas pinged a hammy and the Lynch pin came on to score a ton. Gotta love this game!
It's Jay as in Impromptu who won SC last year.
Quick question, did you choose Lynch as a mid pricer who could become a keeper or had only planned for him to increase enough so you could almost straight swap. If his game the other night is anything to go by, it looks as though he could become very dt relevant. It looked like your trades were well thought out but do you now regret trading him and not sticking by him ?I made two trades this week- Out: C Howard and T Lynch, In: P Hanley and T Couch.

I'd say your team looks fairly good except for Hale. Drop him down to a Milera or something and put the cash in your bank for when rookies start to rise and premiums start to fall so you can pull off a nice upgrade trade in a couple of rounds.
Good luck molly. Hurts to get a bad score like that early on.
Went for Hero or Zero picking this year and as you can see, ended with Zero. As much as people might say that not going guns and rookies and trying midprice players, it is many of my premium backs that are letting me down. Add to that Goodes first game where I hoped for so much more (that was a dumb pick) and I am in a world of hurting.
There is a fair argument to say that I should trade hard and trade often to get out of this hole but I am pretty sure I am going to stay firm with my boys and if we go down, we go down together.
So probably just 1 trade for me this week.
I admit I have a bit of remorse about that. I would have been 30 points better off this week without those trades. Essentially, I have switched my structure so that I have a midpricer in the mids instead of in the backs. This makes it more balanced, but it is going to live or die depending on if McCarthy outperforms Lake. The reason I did it was that Lake looked so poor in R1 that I felt he wasn't going to bounce back. He did in R2, but it was very noticeable that he could only really score one way with that cheap stuff across the backline, and not every team is going to allow that. I could see him pulling out a big score this week though with St Kilda also liking to play a loosie in defence. Then Melbourne and the Giants... hmmmm...I personally can't believe 2 of you guys cut Lake after just one round (Porps as well). Seems like a weak selection to pick a midpricer and ditch them after just one round when you can just as easily wait another to see if they can turn things around (like both Lake and Porps did) and nothing to lose. I guess you guys might have a couple of trades planned for this week which may have forced your hand early...

Yeah right, that's it. You didn't tell me not to pick him!Be honest. You choose the General because you were annoyed I got on him early and you wanted to put the "m0nty Curse" on him!
Lake could score 160 against the Giants. Based on the approach the Giants take to kicking into the forward half, lake could take 20 Uncontested marks that round.
It will be interesting to see how Lake does continue because I thought with the two key and inform (well from round 1) forwards in Tippett and Walker would have meant his hands were more then full and he wouldn't have been able to run off like he perhaps would have liked against a weaker forward set up.I admit I have a bit of remorse about that. Hmm Lake has Melbourne in Rd4, GWS in Rd5 & GC in Rd8. Might be worth bringing him back in for almost a straight swap for a rookie in a week or 2? Will be just about doable if he spuds it up this week...
Do you understand how the pricing system works? Lake will not be near rookie price even if he scores 0 this round.
Is 70k close to a straight swap now? Interesting interpretation.
