OK guys - Hows this look

Backs - Fisher, Newman, Gilbee, Cornes, Malceski, L Fisher, Pettard - Mitchell Brown, Aaron Kite

Mids - Hodgey, Harvey, Bartel, Kerr, Rich, Coughlan - 2 of Beams/Sidebottom/Davenport

Rucks - Cox, Ottens - Currie, Vickery

Forwards - Pavlich, Riewoldt, Didak, Alwyn Davey, Higgins, Lucas, Rusling/Reid - Yarran, Ziebell

Leaves me with over a 100k in the bank ? Any comments would be appreciated

Also any clue when the competition opens up ?? i cant bloody wait !!!

It looks like the team that BigFooty built. :D

Surely you can't go too wrong with it. :)

My only suggestions would be to watch who you select as premiums.
Particularly- go anyone there who's injury/suspension prone?
Hows about an interupted pre-season?
:D

Yeah il fish around for options - not entirely show about kerr, davey - suspension and injury respecitively

might go a shaw for a cornes still

the only reason i have reid/rusling is because i expect them to play and go up in value.

hodgey was injured - but man is he gold - see how the pre season goes - might do a hodge to judd and upgrade davey !

cheers walesy

very nice team only thing i noticed was hodge in the midfield. i would put him in the backline

the side looks strong with ablett in apart from having 2 rookie priced backs in pettard and suban. if you put hasleby back in i think u could make the team even stronger by using your 700k to upgrade one of your back rookies to a premium back eg fisher and then upgrading one of your cheaper forwards in headland or vezpremi to a premium forward eg jono brown:thumbsu:

Very true. I'll have to weigh up whether having Ablett as a lock captain can outweigh that.

I dont seem to be following on this whole Petterd thing. I love the price but with rookie backs being hard to choose and fairly unreliable in terms of games, what makes you so sure he will be playing on a consistent basis??

Played consistently till he punctured his lung.

Showed poise and skill under immense pressure int Dees backline for a rookie in 07.

Avg 60.3 as a rookie with a HS of 108 against Syd! In his first game mind you.

Bailey should be shot if this kid is not given a fair go after coming back.

No one is "sure" about anything in SC but he is definitely worth looking at and cashing in when he hits his ceiling.

I keep getting this message when I try to resort my team according to either Guru or Price.

"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1"

What in the world does that mean?

It means that someone accidently broke something... Probablty when they were putting in the new opt-out button. :)

pssst- Monty! :)

Hey guys Id be interested in hearing your thoughts on J Drummond, i know he is injury prone but i recon that under vossy he is primed for a massive SC year... thoughts?

There is no doubt that a fit Drummond is very dangerous in SC. He has showed his ability to score well, and score well often. However, as you pointed out, his injuries are a big worry. Brisbane in the past, tended to use the "Quarterback" role a fair bit, and either Drummond, or this year Mcdonald seemed to be the 2 main players who became the "go to" man in defense. I would personally put a fit Drummond ahead of Mcdonald as a "quarterback" (i hate using that term), because he uses the ball so well

2005- 14 games
2006- 7 games
2007- 11 games
2008- 13 games
Not the best record going around

If you trust his durability enough, then i would say he is worth the risk, and the possible reward. If you question his fitness (like me), then i would stay away

Whole bunch of new things just happened that turns the game inside out.

The most important point, if you pick Ben Cousins at his new price, you are nuts. :(:thumbsu:

Haha, went from 120k left to 224k OVER LOL

Thats nothing. I was about 450k over.

I was spewing, I had Cousins, Skipworth and Coughlan all at good prices, and they single-handedly screwed me up good and proper.

But, ive slotted in Brent Harvey and Brett Deledio straight into my forward line.

And considering Adcock for the backs now. :thumbsu:

heres my team
dramatically changed after the new prices

backs:
sam fisher, chris newman, lindsay gilbee, chad cornes, grant birchall, nick malceski, matthew egan (jason davenport, james strauss)

midfield: chirs judd (C), daniel cross, dane swan ?, paul haselby, mark coughlan, daniel rich (stephen hill, patrick dangerfield)

rucks: dean cox, hamish mcintosh (daniel currie, shaun mckernan)

foward: matthew pavlich, jonathon brown, brett deledio, lance franklin, alwyn davey, hayden ballantyne, steele sidebottom (scott gumbleton, taylor walker)

any suggestions?
im not to happy playing 2 rookies in the foward line
also not to convinced on some of my rookies (eg davenport, dangerfield)

Here's my thoughts...
Egan - won't play ever again. Other than that I like your backs.
Mids - Hill is unlikely to get early games I think, possible same with Dangerfield - coach isn't happy.
The rest..well they are ok...a few things I would change..but that's why our teams are different, so I won't go into that ;)

Your bench looks exactly like mine except for walker and im in two minds on ziebell. Also i might play sidebottom up forward - so im hoping you'v struck gold there.

You have some potential huge scores in your team

I just am not too sure about Jonathan Brown - might wanna see how consistent he is at the start of the year - though harvey and deledio should give you the consistency you need up forward - with lucas and brown coming up with their freakish 8 goals a game here n there.

Your mids should also be consistent with the cross and corey chipping in with the 100 most weeks - starting haselby and coughlan both though seems a bit risky.

But overall - you got some big scores in that team..

Just re-did my team after the price changes, here it is...

Goddard

Cornes
Newman
Adcock
Malceski
Pettard
M.Brown
Ziebell

Will be looking for Franklin at a price drop (hopefully) as well as another premium Backman.
