Going to miss the big bastard.
I've got a match worn guernsey from from Jacko that Michael Wilson gave me. If those 2 don't epitome what standing up for your mates, having a crack and going hard I don't know what does.
Good luck and thanks.

If anyone has any Jacko merch they were going to take to the tip, I'll gladly take it off your hands. :D

Pretty empty feeling having this become a reality when it all could've been avoided by making him feel wanted, as others have said it might just be the best option for both player & club going forward but it still doesn't make it any easier seeing him in a rival clubs colours and reading that Facebook post.

Will miss you Jacko, you are Port Adelaide & were loyal to the club until they decided that you there was no longer a spot for you in the best 22, wish you & your family all the best for the future.

It's a pity when a guy like Trengove doesn't leave with a premiership medallion. I hope he doesn't fall in love with the bulldogs as much as he did with us. Pity his new role it didn't work out.

Super bloke and club man.

To the great supporters at PAFC,

At the end of the 2017 season I walked out of my exit meeting knowing that it would be the last time I would walk through the Alberton doors as a player for the Port Adelaide Football Club.
I've always imagined what my last day at PAFC would look like. I thought I'd be in my 30's, playing my last game after announcing my retirement, thanking and waving goodbye to you all on the Adelaide oval.
As someone who is fiercely loyal, I always thought I'd be a one club player. I made this decision when I was overlooked at the end of the season when I felt like I still could of been a strong contributor to the team.
By leaving now, I am leaving with my head held high, satisfied with my efforts on and off the field and still believing that my best is good enough.
It was an honour to be a part of the PAFC culture. We have had some really good times together. Thank you for the love and support you have given me over the last 8 years, especially all of the messages of support I've received over the last few months. Although I can't respond to every single one, I read them all! I still believe in this club and I wish you all the very best for the future.

Last but not least, my new home... The doggies!!! - Thank you for the opportunity. This is a football club I really felt believed in me from the get go. A fresh start could not come at a better time and I can't wait to get down to Whitten Oval and train with the boys

Farewell Jacko, will always remember you for sticking around during the club's darkest hour. All the best for the next phase of your career though it's going to hurt seeing you run around in doggie colours.

When I heard Jacko was pissed off back around August 23rd that he was going to be moved on, he spent 5 hours with someone I know going thru his grief. He told the person I know that he would get on facebook and write directly to the Port fans when he left, saying that he didn't want to go and wanted to thank us all for supporting him. Well done Jacko, you kept your promise. But would we expect anything different??

Not sure Jacko will be at the B&F tonight as he's at Adelaide Airport

My favourite number is actually 12 so I'm interested to see who gets his number.

Just like seemingly everyone at and invested in the PAFC, I have been immensely appreciative of the passion and enthusiasm Jackson displayed right throughout his time with us. He's never been a blue chip footballer, but when on field he's proudly worn that chip on his shoulder and compensated superbly for the natural awkwardness that comes with being such a gangly figure competent in the full gamut of positions a man of his size can possibly play.

Pragmatically it is the right call for he and the club. His versatility has hurt him which some supporters will struggle to accept, but he has fallen down the pecking order of key defenders, not quite the size and stature to play full time ruck and gives the air of a fish out of water up forward. He'd still be very much a desired player to retain on the list, but on the price he is able to command it is not a cost effective idea for the club and makes no sense from his perspective.

I am very glad to see the unanimous goodwill from every corner of the PAFC community and just as pleased to read how maturely he has moved on. It's been a pleasure to watch him represent the club :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Given he has been in Melbourne today, was at the Whitten Oval, him being at Adelaide airport this afternoon would be a good sign that he has come back for the B&F.

Edit: Or was that video done yesterday?
