I know we have higher minimum wages here but Macca's meals really should be $5-6, not $10-15.

You can get a good pizza for under $20, usually a couple of Asian dishes or a dish and rice for under $20, a lot of pubs have $15-20 specials. Yet Macca's still thrives selling mostly complete shit. Quarter pounder or one the angus thinks are OK, but that's about it.

KFC is about a 1 in 4 shot of getting good, fresh chicken and a 1 in 10 shot of good service. Their internal processes are all over the shop.
The amount of times they either forgot dinner rolls or something in their boxes is a joke.. Using Menulog or Uber Eats is more so I once ordered via Uber Eats when looking after the kids (who were asleep) and they forgot the wicked wings in the box. Couldn't take it back so I had to get a refund through UE.

Maccas are the same if you go through Apps..

It's what you get when you hire teenagers to manage teenagers. I now sit in the drive through and check everything before driving off.

Happy meals are close to $7

When I worked there in 2006 it was like $4.95

the Hamburger is on the loose change menu. can you save money by adding cheese to it?
Nope. They won't put it through and if they do, the worker cops a spray.

When I worked there out back people even tried to order a hamburger and a slice of cheese on the side. I got told to put it on the grill to melt it slightly and then put it into the container so it stuck to the box.

I've been making my own burgers since we locked back down when I get the crave (making my own lazy style, with patties, buns, etc. from the supermarket. Not making my own from first principles)

I got hold of some beetroot chutney from somewhere. Dolloping that on top of a bacon cheeseburger instead of sauce worked pretty well. Good alternative to the chilli tomato chutney I normally use.

I'd been fooling around with guac on the bottom bun too. Not sure it really adds anything. Need to compare one with and one without.

ETA: I once got screwed in the drivethru and got someone else's Cheeseburger special order: No meat, no onions, no sauce, no pickles, added mayo.
Yes: bun; cheese; mayo.

People are weird

Had some frozen party pasties yesterday for the footy
I dont think I will do that again
Just mush and the occasional piece of corn and beef fat taste but no sign of any meat
Margarine in the pastry is not great either

Has anyone tried the crunchy fried type pieces they have at Chicken Treat, I'd be very surprised if it would be any good but might get tempted one day.

'Crunchified' chicken. Other than two stores in Qld Chicken Treat is subject to Marko's hard border.

I actually don't know if I've ever tried their fried chicken. Will give it a try next time I see a Chicken Treat. Which will probably mean next time I am in the country.

I'm a bit of a health nut but yesterday had a cheat day where I had anything I wanted. After having both KFC (original recipe burger and chips) for lunch and then Maccas (triple cheese burger and fries) for dinner, can safely say Maccas is better. I love the KFC chicken pieces but to me, a burger should be beef. Also the chips are KFC are never crisp
