Would just delist and rookie him if it's only a handful of games he needs. Good bit of experience in the ressies and comes into the AFL side as the sub. Get access to a bunch of f/s picks, seems pretty win-win. It's just a bit of a gamble that his kids play footy good but all we're staking is a rookie spot.
If Pickett had been drafted by us at 18 he might have been a genuine star.

Five (Marlion Jnr) and six (Latrell) drafts away.

The young players that have debuted this year Brown , Bauer, Banks will be about 26 and in their prime, when the Pickett boys get drafted.

Considering the impact that the Daicos brothers have had, and that the Pickett boys are already playing at a high level in organised football and it's not like this gene line ain't produced AFL players, Leon Davis and Neville Jetta, also come from the same family tree as Byron and Marlion (I might be over symplifying it but their grandparents (or great grand parents with the Jarrod and Kossie) where brothers and sisters from a family of 19 children.

Damn .... Taranto and Hopper will still be under their current contracts ... what's 22 games that's half as many as we we wasted on Missy Higgins, for god sake we have nearly given Dow that many.

If Marlion was played as a midfielder he would be still be better than Dow in five years time. Marlion single handedly won the Adelaide and GWS games this year ... The only way Dow does anything single handedly is if he puts one hand behind his back lol

Anybody thats seen the Pickett kids at punt rd or anywhere else will back up that you never see them without a footy in their hands and are always doing kicks , tricks and handling the football combined with the natural footy genetics it would be negligent to not get Marlion Pickett to 100 games and stupid not to play him as the sub this round leaving 21 for 2024

Just like his father, Patrick put his own stamp on the club even if it wasn’t necessarily on field. Seemed to be one of the most popular kids at the club and still is hanging out with the boys regularly.

Charlie has a body suited more to AFL footy and put in a professional environment, might be able to turn into something. Worst case scenario is he doesn’t work out and we at least had a good person and family at the club.

And if his form sucks or he gets injured then what? Give him 2025 as well?

It's a poor thing to make list management decisions on.

Yes if that means we get 3 father sons in the coming years then you make sure you get him the extra 5-10 games

Dean Anderson played 83 games for the Hawks and his son missed out on becoming a Hawks player
I bet anything that hawks supporters would love to have had the hawks 'Gift' Dean another 17 games

Alwyn Davey was massaged to 100 games at Bummerland and look now, two father sons. You do it if you believe they will be decent players

I think he’ll get there and I’m less fussed about him not playing this week. If he’s going to do it he was always going to have to play two more years, relying on him playing every game next year was a fraught strategy

How's he going to play the last five games from jail though? Surely his court case is sorted by the end of next year, and by then he's looking more likely than not to be in jail given the evidence that the police allegedly have against him.
