I’m quite bored and with a month to go to the draft I wanted to start a talking point.

Who were some of your favorite players when you were a kid, the smaller household names?

From my childhood I loved David Mench, Simon Arnott, Derek Hall and Scott Bamford

I’m looking forward to seeing all the different names, some I’m sure I won’t even know who they’re

One from the [emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]’s, not talked about much anymore Mark Bos.

Danny O’Brien because he signed my footy. And Clint Bizzell because he took a huge hanger.

He took more than one! I remember a game against Collingwood at Telstra Dome/Colonial Stadium/Marvel Stadium where he took 3 or 4 massive hangers.

I have a kids size 5 Geelong jumper with 33 on it from Bruce Nankervis days

Go Catters

David Cameron.

Think he kicked a bag one game and I jumped on the wagon.

Then he got traded with someone else to Brisbane. I was pissed off.

We got pick 1 and I was still pissed.

Then we chose Hooper and everyone ended up being pissed!😀

I was shattered when Brent Moloney got traded
Was a favorite from the start, I know he was the Dominoes that helped us win some flags but still hated seeing him in other colors.
Was perfect for our quick, kick the ball long game style also

Moloney and Prismall are completely interchangeable in my head

Simon Hogan and Ryan Gamble

Hooper was quite possibly the WORST #1 pick in history... Such a dud.
Wasn't the guy's fault that he was perma-injured.

I think it's also easy to overlook that this was 1990. Before that, the Number 1 picks were Martin Leslie, Richard Lounder, Anthony McDonald and Anthony Banik. It would take another couple of years for the Number 1 pick to start unearthing genuinely good AFL footballers, and another 10 years for it to unearth a genuine star (Nick Riewoldt). Recruiting was not what it is now.
