Way too many, but at a glance...

72, smashed the tigers, jezza never got out of a walk and still snagged 7.
Sheedy spent the day yapping at Nick, and he gave it back in spades.

79, still get nervous when i watch it,
we couldn't have played any worse for half a game,
but still got through.
Perc and Jezza on the dias at the end was terrific spontaneous stuff.

81, awful feeling 20 minutes into the third,
but we came good, Hafey had run the pies into the ground during the week, and Moore couldn't run a stride.

82 gf, total underdogs, jumped out of the blocks,
even after Jess Ko'd Hunter we still prevailed.
Wow Jones had Lee totally bluffed, and that had a real impact.
Our little blokes loved a dip in those days. Marcous one hand pick up and slot as the sealer was a ripper.

1987, blazing hot, Rhys baked Brereton,
Naley baby stepping through the middle in the last quarter still sticks in my mind.

1995, such a thrashing, singing the song 5 minutes into the 3rd.

Koutas game in '96(?) v West Coast at PP,
famous for the Greg WIlliams non-goal.

'99 Prelim, previously discussed.

The worst was probably the Neal Daniher/Fitzy time wasting game in 1981.
Sat in the Heatley stand, and remember them playing the club song in the last quarter to get them going. It didn't.

definitely my fave game ever the 99 prelim and i dont think too many carlton supporters would disagree unless they were fortunate enough to witness one of our great premierships. what i remember from the 99 prelim was kouta absolutely dominating the game and fraser brown's match-saving tackle on wellman right at the end, inspirational. hopefully we can see better games than this in the next 5-10 years. GO BLUES!!

wasn't the tackle on dean wallis?

no one rates the game VS wc over there?
up by 2points, mainwaring with the banana to win it, hits the post....

and the 99 prelim is up there....

I was at that game and couldn't watch as he took his shot, the guy I went with lost a heap of money on the weagles that day. 1993 I think.

Who could forget the game vs weagles at Subiaco in 1995 when both teams had so much to prove. That was the day big Earl cleaned up Guy McKenna, happened right in front of me and I still remember the bones crunching just before he hit the deck, even better - we won by a point.

Watched the 99 prelim on TV and almost had an accident in the final quarter, Mad Dog Brown epitomises what playing for the jumper is all about.
How about mother's day vs Collingwood (2004 I think) when Buckley came back from injury and Bannister ran him ragged....Fevola showed glimpses and Davies starred. 87 GF was great payback as was the 82 GF....could go on and on but we'll rest there for now.

He must have still had concussion on GF day considering he fell off the podium :D (good enough excuse anyway!!) :p

I think he went to jump over the hand rail and his foot got caught on it. Goes with his unforgettable speach after the '87 flag as well! Peter Dean - what a legend!!

You stole my suggestion. That was a cracking game. There was plenty of niggle in the match. I remember there was an incident between Chris Lewis and Diesel, as well as the clash between Guy McKenna and Big Earl.

I also loved a game in 1995 home and away season against Geelong and Princes Park, Carlton was on top of the ladder but Geelong went into the match confident and threw everything they could at us, but we stood up and won by three points, the rest is history.

Another one my faves is the rd 22 game in '87 when Sticks slotted the goal after the siren to allow us to finish the year on top of the ladder!!

Jesus Christ HBF. I scroll thru 4 pages of comments just to put my 2 bobs worth in and you pip me at the second last post! I was at Waverley that day and I seem to remember the finals race was in the balance due to results from other games still being up in the air. One of those days where you are flicking across radio channels to keep up with other scores. I rode Sticks' kick home all the way and we got plastered at the Stamford on the way home. That's 2 reasons I have you in the bin now.
