In race 1 got tip midweek on unraced 2yo More Radiant. Opened at 7s - got 5s now its $2.70

Anything that beat home Earthquake in a trial would look good in an ok Maiden ...

He has been the best backed runner Iluvparis, I don't see what your issues is with the horse, who cares if he is a bad Cox Plate winner? They are only there to make money off aren't they?

I am a racing fan as well as a punter. I want to see good horses win good races. I want the roller coaster ride of following various horses throughout their careers. That means you have to have heros and you have to have villains. When a Maiden wins a Cox Plate it shows an appalling lack of ability amongst our older horses. My rage at that needs an outlet and that outlet is poor old Shamus.

May he never win another race!

**** you, I love Shamus :hearts:
He will be villain to some, and hero to others.

That's fair enough, I would say I'm an enthusiast also as I do love seeing champion horses do great things but at the end of the day the interest for me is the analyzing of it all in an attempt to turn a profit.

I have to ask though if Shamus had won a maiden at on debut at a Bendigo before his run of out at the top level prior to the Cox Plate would you be more forgiving of him?

Nope.

A win against his own age group at Black type level would have made it more palatable.
