BRENDAN Fevola reckons the Blues could be playing on Saturday if he was still at the club.

But while he reckons the Blues would be a bigger premiership threat with him in the side, he knows a return to Visy Park – even with the considerable backing of board member and Jeanne Pratt – is a non-starter.

“I think if I was still at Carlton we would be playing on Saturday,” Fevola said yesterday.

“And if (Eagles forward) Josh Kennedy was playing there they would be playing on Saturday.”

Translation: I hate Judd & Carlton for pushing me out of the club.

I'm not saying this to have a dig at him but he really hasn't matured past the mindset of a 16-17 year old has he?

LOL wow. This guy has been chucked out of 2 clubs, 30 years old and hoping to get back in the AFL and he still hasn't an ounce of humility in him?

but he's right

No he's not right.

We might have got through with a KPF in place such as Waite who have the ability to to not only mark and kick goals but bring Betts, Garlett and the other smaller players into the game.

This is something that neither Fev nor Carlton's gameplan could accomdate, Fev wanted and needed the whole forward 50, the others simply couldnt get a look in on a regular basis. We have simply been more lethal in the fwd line without him. Still want to see a KPF there but not that selfish but talented w***er.

Couple that with his off field incidents and general attitude around the club and we would have struggled to make the 8.

He's right. But seriously, is anyone advising him? He seems completely unaware as to how much of a longshot a spot on an AFL list in 2012 is for him and yet he's still out there fanning the flames by being shot on CCTV at a pub (regardless of whether he spewed or not, he shouldn't have set foot in a pub in 2011), seen playing poker at Crown and now reopening old wounds at his former club.

If he was commenting on Carlton as part of his media gig he should've just stuck to the old, "Carlton need a power forward to win a premiership".

He really is Peter Pan.

Fact is he's probably right. With Fev, Kennedy or another decent key forward we may have been playing in the big one this weekend.

With out Judd you would still be around 8th on the ladder. Only mistake Carlton made was that they should have traded Fev instead of Kennedy if West Coast would have accepted it.

Carlton at that time needed Judd for more than what he offered on the field. They needed him to change the 'culture' of the club and from an outsider it looks like he has done that.

Fev just ensured that no side will pick him up by saying that.

I doubt that Judd would be the player he is had Fev stayed. Wasnt Judd pissed off with Fev? The ensuing tension would not have made Judd a happy camper at the club, and likely to have affected his output. IMO.

this is the bottom line. they could have kept kennedy if fev was put on the table as part of the deal but they didn't want to trade fev. with the glorious benefit of hindsight, a horrible decision by blues management

True in that Carlton would be better with a fit and firing KPF, but...

- They are better with Henderson and Lucas than Fev

- They are better with Judd (overall, IMO) than Kennedy

Without some of those tough decisions taken at Princes Park, Carlton might still have Fev, but I doubt it would have even been a vague contender this year.

well considering Blues are HANGING for a Power Forward to help their "smalls", Fevola is right.

Imagine him, Betts, Walker etc combining for 10-12 goals a game between them 3.

Well obviously he's right but Fev still should keep his mouth shut at the moment if he wants to get back into AFL.

But yeah, he's actually right on this one.

No, he isn't. Did you even watch the Semi vs. your mob? We got smashed in the centre clearances, Kerr killed us. How would Fevola have helped there? He's hardly a superstar inside midfielder.

I honestly believe the development of guys like Walker, Garlett, Betts etc would have stagnated had we kept Fevola. No sense bringing in a superstar forward if it's actually to the detriment of your forwardline.

A key-forward would be good, but not Fevola. Our forwardline is much more functional since he left. Do people really have such short memories? Fevola would only run, chase and play hard if Fevola felt like it. If not he would just stand around and sulk while the rest of the team got smashed. Is this the kind of guy any club trying to win a flag would recruit?

The Eagles weren't interested in Fev & Fev wouldn't have agreed to a trade to the Eagles. That was never an option.
