Checked their website and apparently the hotel is "unavailable" on Saturday night!

No real budget as such, as long as price is reasonable but willing to be a bit flexible - just not going to pay $500 or anything like that! I would be going solo and would only need the basics, don't need anything fancy.

Any other suggestions? Appreciate the help. :thumbsu:

Are you a part-time member of the paparazzi MEB, exactly how long a lens are planning to take with you ? :D

hahaha part time Eddie Betts-stalker..!

Nah, my normal lens broke while I was away and I could only get a zoom lens to replace it...and I haven't had a chance to get it fixed yet. I know the MCG limit is 300mm so I wasn't sure what ANZ's limit is.

The Novotel at Olympic Park is good. Stayed there in 2010.
Staying at the Mantra Parramatta on Saturday night , hope it is not far away from the train station. Never stayed at Parramatta so no idea whether I have grabbed a good spot or not.

The locals look like an intelligent bunch...they're into politics and shit.

Parramatta is a great spot, although i'm not sure what it's like late on a Saturday night.
Lots of good restaurants and the like.

bluegal1983 I've just spoken to my co-driver and I was in a panic about time so now we're leaving at 6am haha :)

Lol! Sorry to freak you out but better to be safe than sorry! Plus, come join the festivities at The Brewery before the game :)

Thanks for all of your input in this thread everyone.

Thinking of taking the overnight bus/train from Melbourne tomorrow night - they leave at about the same time and are about the same price although the train is a bit quicker. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions as to which is preferable?

Take the train! It'll definitely be quicker!

How good was it today to get the letters with all the information we need to pre-book Grand Final tickets if we win on Saturday! :):)
