Except that we are $1.26 to beat Brisbane and $1.06 to make finals. We do not need to win all three. Go easy with the hysteria.

I just consulted the AFL fixture and can confirm finals begin September 6th.

And no we don’t need to win the last 3 games to make finals.

The essence of what TD’s saying isn’t wrong.

The next three weeks are dress rehearsals for finals and every single outcome will influence the makeup of the final 8 in a huge way. We need to give ourselves our best chance of the best possible path, and we can only do that by finishing as high as possible. I don’t want an Essendon 2009 like scenario where we limp into eighth, get absolutely humiliated and then spend the better part of the next decade being also-rans at best.

The Port Adelaide game is shaping as the big one - a legitimate 8 point game amongst the 4 or 5 of them remaining this season and the winner is a strong chance to be top 4.

It's hard to see any of the top 4 contenders (outside of Richmond there are probably 6 other teams that could make it) running the table in their last three games, but we've probably got as good a chance as any on paper at least.

If we make the finals we will need another win for sure.
All games we are a chance to lose and I expect the biggest challenge will be Port in a fortnight.

We must regroup fast for Brisbane and not take them lightly or I think we miss the eight. 65/35 win

Going to need a match-up for Dixon and don’t think we have an answer there for now.
Will need to be able to handle Gray(s) and Wingard as well so a tough ask for our defence. 50/50 win

Freo should be a decent win and could be the difference of a fourth place depending how the previous weeks went. Any luck we have a DeGoey back. 70/30 win

Just saw the Demons run and they are no lock to finish fourth so our destiny lies with us. We can keep Port below is if we play to our potential.

Good with some teams around us also having 8 point games to come so going to be very interesting end of the H&A rounds!

I have no basis for this but I hope the last few weeks haven't hurt us too much mentally as well as physically.

We really picked ourselves up off the ground to try and win that last night, hope the boys stay strong and don't let their heads drop. Our mentality needs to be as good as possible going into finals.

Brisbane have shown they're not just going to roll over. We can't afford another close one like we had last time with them. We need to boost our confidence as a team.

Three wins pretty much makes the top 4 a certainty given Melb and GWS play each other in the final round. Melb still have to play WCE in Perth and Syd at the G. GWS still have a derby to play.

Hawthorn should lose to either of Geelong or Sydney at SCG. Even if they win both, Collingwood need about an extra 50 point differential to make up the %.

Given we will definitely finish above either GWS or Melb with 3 wins, providing the winner of that game loses a game in the next two weeks or Hawthorn lose a game, we will finish 4th.

If say Melb beat GWS but lose to WCE and Haw lose to Geel, we could be travelling to Perth in week 1 if the finals providing of course we win all our games.

Reckon 2 of th last 3 will still have us finishing 4th, really can’t see us missing from here.
The biggest issue is will we be able to fire a shot come finals time, our hands are almost tied with the injuries we have.. I was pretty harsh with some comments in the game day thread on the weekend but it really is quite the achievement to even be in this position at this time of the year.

I think it’s possible. I didn’t see a sim though where 15 wins had us finishing outside the top 4. As you say though that could all change after Hawks vs Cats this week.
