Finals ticketing

To the posters age-shaming those Crows supporters who chose to line up.

I lined up by choice because it was the only possible way of making sure I got more than the 8 seats allowed in the one transaction. At the counter the 'operator' can see where there are more than 8 seats available together, and can then do two transactions choosing to secure those seats - something which is entirely impossible to do online. The people either side of me were also there for exactly the same reason. The age of the queue has just as much to do with the fact that that these people are retired or non-working grandmothers/grandfathers who are getting tickets for their 20-40+ yr old children who are working or studying. I've retired early and therefore was designated Dave to organise getting a shitload of tickets sitting together while my friends were either working or at uni.

The only way to do that was by lining up. ...And got the desired outcome bitches!

I wasnt really age-shaming the supporters, I was just getting annoyed hearing these people bitch and moan about having to stand in line for a few hours or having seats in an area of the ground where (boo-freaking-hoo) they may get rained on when there are those of us (myself included) who cannot afford to just drop a couple hundred on tickets to a finals match.

It's not sold out.

I got tickets at 6:15pm tonight.

Channel 9 said ~24,000 were sold
Sorry to intrude. The 24k sold for A.O is similar to the ~28000k allegedly sold for our match (according to 10 news)
Both those numbers seem low so can't help but wonder if they are staggering the allocations this year.
I'm sure both games will end up being sell-outs/near sell-outs
I'm glad Adelaide got the Saturday night game instead of the Sydney showdown, as your home games' atmosphere has been electric all year!

The AFL runs the tickets to the finals games and NMFC Members would have been allocated about 20,000 tickets today and us about 30,000. Expect about 15000 of Norths allocation to be released to the general public at midday tomorrow.

Have they had 20000 to a game all year ?

I can't go because of a wedding .....
But that allocation seems unfair

Teams that have supporters turn up week in week out should be rewarded with a proportionate allocation

It seems 3-game members were only offered ground level seating in cat 1 and 2. To get an elevated seat I had to go down to cat 3 and sit in the Southern Stand. Had I been smart I would have just waited for today and bought Eastern stand tickets with the general public. I wasn't able to spend 3 hours in line today otherwise an agent would also have been the way to go.

I can't see how the system would identify 3 game members vs 11 game members.

Would be easy to have all barcodes in a certain range be assigned to 3 game memberships. I went down to Marion to buy tickets in person but the line was too long and I just bought them on my phone. The man in front of me was an 11 game member and was only offered seats in the eastern stand for cat 2. He had a disabled son and couldn't accept them. Pity I didn't have enough 3 game memberships to swap barcodes with him.

Does anyone know whether it will be possible to move to better seats when things die down a little?

Would be a nightmare for ticketing staff and with no $ benefit for Ticketek.

Maybe we could have a "swap" session on here? - one person's good seats are another's bad seats and vice-versa

They should implement a system where you elect to buy your existing should we play Finals. Just tick a box when renewing membership and the payment happens automatically and tickets emailed to you.

I understand the concept that membership is only for 11 games, but surely this method would make it more efficient t for the ticketing agency.

I am not complaining for the sake of whinging about my personal circumstances as I am unreserved EC and always stand. Did get a reserved seat for this game and it took me about three minutes to do so on my mobile phone. But it seems to have been more difficult for a lot of other members.

Just think such a system used for every Final would work better.

I prefer the old way - back in the 1960s sleeping overnight outside the AO, then getting your preferred "seats" on first there basis - much fairer for most than the current system ;)
I preferred the older way where you turned up on the 1st day of a Test and had a sprint with Granny Jones to get the best seat

Flying over from Perth and ended up with seats in bay 331 row C in the Eastern stand.
First time at Adelaide oval Are these OK? And any tips for an AO virgin?

Should be good seats as you would be at the front of the stand rather than right up the top. South eastern pocket near the 50 meter line.

As for the bolded bit, there are a few clubs in Hindley street you could try out :p:p

Wowee, 7,000 tickets sold in the first 1/2 hour of general public onsale! Close to 35,00 sold all up - get in quick! https://t.co/CJ3o0fM5al

If it keeps going that fast, the game will be sold out by tonight.

Looks like there are lotsof seats in the Western stand as a mate of mine got 5 seats together in section 400, which is the red seats in the middle section. This area is normally mostly corporates.

Nice how they upped the prices for the General public though, yesterday seats on the Western stand were $73 & today they are $89!

Jeez if I'd known that I would have held off and bought today. Those red seats are an awesome spot

Surely seats in the Western Stand aren't available for the General public? I was sure it was Essential Crows or Adelaide Oval members only? Maybe they're more expensive because they're corporate seats.

I understand there are general admission tickets for $35? If you're happy to stand out in the open, that would be a cheaper option.

Yep i just went on to ticketek and had a look and just clicked on Western stand and got offered seats on section 313.

The AFC said earlier in the week that after the members sale, the stadium will be open slather. They are also offering standing room tickets in the Western stand too
