AFL need to have all the ground level seats filled including the pockets so it doesn't look bad on television.

This is absolutely the case. I tried many times to get cat 1 level 3 seats but had to go through each of the level 1 bays from 130 to 141 sequentially and then even through a few of the level 3 bays from 320 sequentially before I got some that I liked.

Especially the case at MCG finals. Top tier is almost empty other than 75k+ finals, rest of the stadium is full.

50,393 v Essendon in 2009, 44,849 against Sydney in 2012 last two examples to go off.

That was in the AAMI Stadium era so I reckon we'll top the Sydney game. 48-49k is my guess.

Lots of optimism for both of those games. I believe (as I went to the match) that the Fremantle final in 2012 after the loss to Sydney wasn't well attended.

I should have done the same but just decided to drop down into cat 3 tickets just to get an elevated view. Will hold off on buying tickets next time or spend the time in the ticketek queue

And quite a few people opting to skip this game and get tickets to the PF instead (assuming we'd make it).

31,000 to the Freo final, 25,000 travelled to Melbourne the following week.

Just did a test run and can still get 8 tickets in a row in both Western and southern stand in the nose bleed. Thought it was only singles left

I got two seats in the crows cheer squad, row L. Would prefer to be closer but can't complain for $35 each. Hopefully my view is 'restricted' by a lot of flags after we kick (hopefully a lot of) goals

I purchased my tickets online and chose to use the delivery method venue/outlet pick-up.. I'm just wondering if anyone knows when they are available for collection. Is it only on game day or can I pick them up on the way home from work through the week.

You can pick them up from selected Ticketek outlets. From the top of my head, City Cross, the Entertainment Centre, and somewhere in Munno Para or Gawler are pick up points. There's a couple of others too around suburban Adelaide that you can pick ticket up from too.
