What type of 25 membership though….a 3 gamer?

Friggin bandwagoners who will probably cry poor next year and not pay up. Was the same with the Social Club after we won…the Xmas PArty was so good, great access to players etc, then all these blow ins turned up and it turned to shit

3 rules in life
  1. You die.
  2. You pay taxes.
  3. Never set up your auto-renew Bulldog membership because you will get shafted. Just purchase your membership on a SEN special, and you will get a better deal, or just buy a 3-game membership with a dodgy name, and you will be guaranteed finals tickets.

Yep 1 game, 3 game, $1 and pet memberships should be abolished.
Either that or publish total revenue generated from club memberships instead of or as well as the traditional membership tally.
This would be great - you have to be careful to make sure you recognise the right categories though.

I was a long time Silver SC with reserved seat (SC from 2015 when my Full MCC came through and I couldn’t afford it and made the executive decision that since we play **** all at the G a Dogs SC was better value for me & it paid off in 2016)

I dropped my seat after holding it through the Covid debacle

I then moved interstate and kept my full Silver home game membership for a full season and couldn’t attend a game and now have changed it over to an interstate member who hasn’t seen an interstate game in 2 years (Thanks AFL) but have paid for the privilege of having access to said game each year (I’ll be putting that in my Bulldog survey this year that we should have access to both games in our state and less in Victoria (i think its 6 in VIC currently)

I’d hope that because I’m interstate, I don’t get lumped in the same category as the 1 and 3 gamers

The only way to get any leverage is to get the clubs mobilised to change things. Then they get the AFL to exert some pressure.

Nothing will ever change if individuals yell at the Pricketek cloud.

A even better way would be for thousands of angry punters to write to their local members of federal parliament. The threat of a senate inquiry or potentially even a Royal Commission would make the ticketing companies sit up and pretend they care all of a sudden.
I feel a ticketing submission thread is a must do. I mean, we're playing finals for the foreseeable future and who wants to go through this sh1tshow every year.

Seems to me that there should be a few lines in the sand

  • priority one ticket allocations on a first crack basis (true best available excluding mcc and afl reserve for non afl members)
  • priority one limited to competing teams full club, social and afl memberships
  • 1-3 game and home game memberships are specifically excluded from priority one ticket allocation
  • mcc is a different kettle of fish - they can do whatever they like
  • priority 2 allocation being competing club home game memberships, afl non-competing
  • priority 3 being 1-3 game competing teams and general public

Well that depends why you buy your membership in the place.

Is it to extract maximum possible value for yourself? Support the club financially? A bit of both? Members fall into different categories.

You forgot the “Anyone who wanted Bevo sacked and typed it on BigFooty” - they can get in with the GA and 1 to 3 gamers 😜

That’s why i think each club should have a 25k seat allocation to use in that way.

AFL Reserve should also be only for competing clubs until all tickets are purchased then it gets opened up

To play devils advocate, a lot of your 3 game memberships are your interstate members who can’t justify a reserved seat membership.

I agree $1 membership and 1 game memberships should be abolished.

Seating priority should probably be based on having your membership by a key date. Someone that signs on by say round 5 should have more right to a seat than someone that signs on in round 22 when it looks like we are a finals chance or top 4 for example. That removes rival club supporters and fair weather members getting tickets before rusted on constants members

There is a literal interstate membership though - i guess you could still just buy a 3 gamer for considerably cheaper and just pay to go to the game if we ever actually get one in the sunny state

Just got off the phone to the club. The issue was this:

All bulldog reserve seat holders bar codes did not work.

Bulldogs alerted tickek about 10.25. Another 25 mins for ticketek to fix and barcodes worked for reserve seat holders just before 11am. By then mainly level 4 tickets left.

A shemozzle.

Interstate is a 3 game membership and unless there is a game in that persons state there is no difference between the memberships

For the record I’m not against 3 game memberships - they’re a great option for people who want to support the club but can’t make it to many games. It’s the fudging of completely misleading membership numbers to compete in the annual dick measuring contest between clubs each year.

I think I must have got very lucky. Had the issue with my Footscray End barcode not being valid when I tried @ 10am.

Worked @ 10:30ish and was able to get 2x Lvl 1 goals tix.

That explains why the first lot of tickets I was able to get (as those members are not reserved seat holders) and the second transaction wouldn't work, becuase they are all reserved seat members

PS - The 2nd transaction ended up being accepted at 10.38am

It would still be bulldogs supporters that got those level 1 seats since they were reserved for us, it’s just that supporters like us that were in the queue early got ****ed.

I agree but clubs are going to continue to do it to make money, but it shouldn’t mean those people get incentivised for joining at the expense of those who joined by the start of the season for example

Pretty sure it’s 3 Melbourne games and access to the game in your state. That’s why I go for the 6 game Bronze usually as I normally get to more games than 3 on Melbourne and also there was no game in my state this year
Welcome to the no game in my state club…maybe you can storm AFL headquarters with me and demand 2 games next year!

The fact there are two QLD teams and we haven’t played a single game up here for two years completely blows. Tassie i can understand as there isnt an actual Tassie team yet
