Oh you can bet it will be swept under the rug as all directly involved are happy now.I really hope the AFL doesn't think this solves the main issue here...
So the AFL ascertain that Port MUST wear white shorts with the PB.
Yet allow this, its the contradiction of the highest order.
No reason why Richmond cant now wear white shorts based on the below.

Don't know if those ones got made. Hopefully more like the one they wore last year.Wow this is huge.
Prison Bars in a Final. Is it the current Prison Bars jumper or the one they were going to wear against Carlton?
That'd mean white & black back on the Port vs black with white shorts on the Richmond. Seems more logical to keep the white to one kit.So the AFL ascertain that Port MUST wear white shorts with the PB.

Last year in a Minor Round match it wasBrendan Gale's on Talking Footy, putting the blame on the AFL. Saying that he thought their clash jumper would have been suitable.
The AFL need to take the decision out of their hands.
What the AFL needs is a shame guernsey, for teams who can't come up with a proper clash. Make it a purple and lime green gradient or something, and give it to any team who shows up to a game with a jumper that'll cause a clash with the home team.
The inability for the AFL to realise colour v colour shorts would work perfectly well most of the time is a league embarrassment.
Royal vs Black for example doesn't clash at all.
Well look at the NRL for example.
Looking at that photo, no clash or reason for any team to be in white shorts, be it home, away or a final unless there is an absolute necessity. Mind you both Geelong and North look better in white shorts anyway.
Or black v navy, or black v purple, or purple v navy......In regard to shorts. Unless the two competing clubs wear shorts of an identical colour. (Which in the AFL case would be royal v royal, Black v black and red v red) then white shorts shouldn't be considered.
If the shorts can't be mistaken, i.e royal v brown then no need for white shortsOr black v navy, or black v purple, or purple v navy......
I know the PB is a great jumper, but I still fail to see how this resolves a clash. Port's black jumper clashes, so they replace it with...a black jumper? I know it has a lot more white, etc. but it's still a predominantly black jumper!
Port know full well their pies jumper doesn't fix the clash, but they aren't the ones responsible to fix the clash, it's Richmond's. Go on Port, more power to them. The back is mostly white, and with white shorts the players won't get confused in a glance. As Port will still be more light then dark

The 1914 guernsey doesn't have a white panel on the back iirc and they wore it in the SANFL.Wow this is huge.
