AFL Club
West Coast
It's going to be released on Tuesday 31 October.

As we finish sixth we get 2-3 double-ups against the top 5, 1-2 against the middle 6 and a double-up against Freo. So it's likely to be a tough draw. Any of the top 5 will be very difficult to beat away from home.

My guess of who we play twice:
- Freo
- Swans
- Crows
- Bombers
- Hawks

And I guess we get round 1 at Perth Stadium.

Edit: changed six double-ups to five

We only play 5 teams twice. Freo are gauranteed. Crows are usually another.

They may go easy on us due to finishing 8th then 6th after finals but it is the AFL so don't count on it.

Apparently we have requested a big Melbourne team for round 1 at the new stadium.

If we could not play Hawks in Tassie that would be a great start.

Dockers is a given.

We have only played Crows once for past couple of years so probs due to double up on them.

Could we have Swans early please? When they are shit?

Hate Demons and Bombers, just beat those pricks where ever we play them West Coast. K? Thanks.

I suppose they see the derby as a guaranteed full house, so why not give both teams 'first games' there with other teams to get a couple more.
Yeah, cause the Dockers got so many to their last game at Subiaco. :flushed:

I don't want to share the first game with those twats anyway. Would like Richmond just because they were our first game at Subiaco, but it think they traditionally play some other Vic team first round don't they?

Hawks, Pies, Demons and Tigers at the G... Yes i know we will lose most of those but i think this team NEEDs to make a point of being able to win there like they do all the time we play at Adelaide oval.
I am hoping our new training ground will make a difference to how well we play the G. A preseason training on it plus Mitchell could see a turn around.

Yeah it will but we wont have access to it till later in the year. But when they do get to do a full pre-season at the ground it should be way easier to implement game plans based on where they are playing. Makes a big difference compared to marking it out with cones..

For some reason I thought they were planning to train on it this preseason?

Heard a rumour the AFL will finally show it's actually a national competition.
We'll be getting 16+ games in our home state, with games at Subi considered away.

So actually playing Goldcoast and/ or Brisbane at Subi instead of Perth Stadium?? First I've heard of that. But would be a big plus wherever they play it.

Edit: there's no way we would actually ever get 16+ games, I'm guessing your post was sarcastic. And neither should we. The problem is how many teams are based in Victoria, not how many games we get in WA.

I think we're more of a chance in Tazzy against Hawthorn than we are at the MCG.

Not sure if i can stand another woeful MCG display against them next season.
Need the experience - good or bad

Rocking up to the g in 2015 gf day after playing only a couple of games there against cellar dwellers didnt help at all.

My guess round 1 will be leaked tomorrow and a game here and there till next Tuesday when the full draw comes out.

I’m a SA eagles fan moving across to Melb this year for work so hoping for 7 vic games this year. Reckon we will get at lest 3 at the G and 1 at Skilled. Hopefully 3 at Etihad too. Can only hope

Collingwood/Essendon/Hawthorn rd 1. Guarantee a big oppo fan base in attendance.
I was thinking Essendon first up as they have a huge WA fanbase and the AFL have yet to exploit the Woosha factor yet.

Freo will get Hawthorn or Richmond the week after. Leaning towards Richmond as they are reigning premier who also have a huge WA following.
