Fletcher's goal

While it will never get the exposure it deserves, Damon White kicked a ****ing enormous goal playing for North Adelaide in the SANFL a few years back at Adelaide Oval.

He marked it about five metres behind the centre circle (or kicked it five metres behind the centre circle). The torp probably landed at the tip of the goal square and bounced through. So it's covered 40 metres inside the 50, an additional 10 metres between the 50 and the centre square, and covered a touch over half the length of the centre square (maybe 30 metres). All up probably a 90 metre kick.

Words can't describe how awesome it was.

Everyone in this thread has said their respective team's player x goal was long and the best. I don't support North Adelaide but this was the BIGGEST I've ever seen.

You didn't read all of the thread did you? There is a video of the goal in question on page 2 AND 3.

I think Goddard's is the biggest kick, but it wasn't that far out.

Quinten Lynch kicked a monster drop punt against North.

lol - shut up Brayshaw! Terrible commentary.
Umm, none of them were Brayshaw. First one was Tim Lane, 2nd was some WA guy.

I remember Bruce Lindner pinging one through for a goal from behind the circle at the SCG in 1987. Wish I could find a copy of it.

Clint Bizzell also let rip with an 85 metre torp against North at Docklands in 2000 which missed by about half a foot. Would have tied the scores with 4 seconds left on the clock.

Malcom Blight, after the siren, to win the game.

This would be one of the highest, kicks I have seen.:thumbsu:

as much as i can't stand listenning to Blightys dribble these days, this is still the best for mine...and to do it after the siren to win the game!!
Didn't he win mark and goal of the week on "the winners" for that effort. The mark was a full diving chest mark inches off the ground from memory.

Thread of the week
Fletcher's a living legend!!

Thanks Winty for that goal and particularly for the Daicos highlight real that was also on that link.

Was nice to see and remember just how magical Peter Daicos was :)

Maybe we need a sideline dribblers highlight thread, and a top marking thread ect ect

the man on the mark was standing in the centre circle. quite a fair effort.

The kick was measured at 90yds 1 foot 7 inches or 82.8 metres. A few weeks later he didn't make the distance from 20 metres.

Um, no - you're wrong.

WA commentators are Tim Gossage and Glen Jakovich, but neither of them say this line.

"Tug of the jumper in the goal-square, or let it ........"

I swear that's Brayshaw showing obvious bias. If it isn't Brayshaw I'd appreciate it if someone let me know who it is!

Why wasn't he showing equal appreciation for the wonderful goal - who cares about a little argy-bargy in the goal-square after a great goal like that? Obvious bias.

Ahh, I didn't watch the whole thing. That isn't Brayshaw. It's Jason Bennett. Brayshaw has never worked for Fox Sports.
