Indeed,in ten years time we will be fondly reminiscing of Charlie Cameron's ruck deeds.
He hasn’t actually recorded a hit out yet,but Lachie Neale does have 1

Didn't we finish 5th the ladder but won the finals series?
It is two separate questions from the SEN survey.
I just put them in one post to line up people thinking and how their answers line up.

The first question is of the finalist (being 8 sides) who will slide the furthest down the ladder in 2025
Most people would think Brisbane finished top. So only 1.60% think we will drop the most.
That's just logical thinking of a premiership side really. Like the bookies have Lions favorite at $7 for 2025 premiership.
Maybe the people surveyed are unaware of what happened to the last 3 premiership sides?
Even if people are thinking we finished 5th (unlikely) it is still just 1.60%. As in we are likely to finish higher than 5th and possibly not drop at all.

I put the answers together as some things can look strange considering it is from the same people answering the questions.
Port is the most at 26.4% of people saying they will slip down the ladder.
In the next answer Port are slotted in 9th just outside the 8.
So that makes sense seeing they finished 2nd in the H & A season and got knocked out in the PF.
People think they will drop the most and the same people have them doing so sitting at 9th on the ladder.

Sydney on the other hand is second on 17.08% to drop the most after being 1st after H & A and 2nd overall after the GF.
Yet the same people picked them to just fall one spot on the ladder position.
I expected them to have Sydney down to about 6/7th on their line of thinking.

Surprised Richmond so low. Three more Premierships and I’m sure we will rise up the list.

Reckon that Hawks and Richmond would definitely push up this list with any more success in the short term.

Also shows how much we know Carlton and Essendon are hated despite the fact that they have had no success for a long time. We all know how bad their supporters would be if they actually won anything

Surprised that after we have now won a Premiership that we are last.

I hope one day they get rid of the stand rule.
Never been a fan, makes the game look stupid to outside watchers.

Should've made a 5 man bench too.
Stand rule has allowed for quicker ball movement, it stays imo.

I actually don't mind the stand rule. Definitely opened up play more and isn't a major change from how the game is "meant" to be played
It was pretty key to our season in the end - those 45 degree chip kicks from Zorko and others that unlocked the corridor for us would've historically been unavailable because the man on the mark always cheated inwards to cut them off.

The AFL will keep the contentious sub rule in 2025 despite calls to remove it, while there there will be no significant rule changes to the game.

In minor tweaks, non-controlling umpires will be allowed to call advantage at centre-bounces and officials will bounce the ball instead of throwing it up after a 6-6-6 warning.

Other areas of focus include holding the ball interpretation, deliberate rushed behind interpretation, shot clock length, the interchange cap, time taken to kick in from a behind and the stand rule among other issues.

The decision to retain the sub comes after it drew criticism from AFL Players Association chief executive Paul Marsh, who called for it to be replaced with a five-man interchange as the “smart way forward.”

Marsh said at a grand final week forum featuring players, coaches and key figures from clubs he doubted “there was anyone in the room who thought the sub continuing was a good idea.”

Andrew Wellington's year in review indicates that we can reduce our debt to zero over the next two years, if they choose to. Good news.

Amazing news that we're on track to get rid of our debt. Although a bit of debt may be good.

Message from the Chairman
In 2024 we will again achieve an operating profit and remain on track to have eliminated our club debt in the next two years. We are currently revisiting whether it makes strategic sense to retire all our club debt, or whether we may maintain some manageable debt to continue to invest in projects that will provide ongoing returns to the club. For example, we have invested in the Total Fusion Lions health and wellness centre at Brighton Homes Arena which is operating profitably. We have also invested in solar energy infrastructure at Brighton Homes Arena, which will significantly reduce our energy costs as well as enhancing our sustainability footprint.
