You don't seem to understand that most if not all 1 picks go to crap teams. That's the point of it. Boyd was picked by GWS and moved to bulldogs and got his success if he stayed well we all know the record. On the other hand number 1 picks can be crap if you don't know what you are doing remember our number 1 picks? If we get 1 and nail it we are more likely to jump the ladder than norf having 5 number 1 picks.

The uncontracted players at the end of the year, Dusty, Gale to Tassie and perhaps even Hardwick/New Coach all of this would have been seen from a long way out.
IF… some of our injuries have been stretched out to make it less likely to win games and finish the season in the bottom three and I emphasis IF.
If Gale has influenced that to create a better launching pad for the next 10 years.
