Second time in eighteen games?Round 3 complete and whilst we win our match free kick count for just the 2nd time in 18 games, we are still bottom.
Meanwhile Carlton have extended their lead with almost twice the free kick differential of 2nd place.

The proverbial daylight

8 of the past 27 is as far as I can go back data wise.2nd time in 18 games, crazy.
do you happen to know how many times we have won the count in let's say the last 50 games?
POST OF THE YEAR!8 of the past 27 is as far as I can go back data wise.
I can tell you that we are 9 years in a row for seasons where we have a negative free kick differential over each season. The probability of that in a truly evenly adjudicated comp with all players playing equally is the same as flipping a coin 9 times and landing on the same side 9 times in a row, being 0.19% or 1 in 526.
If that's the case, then the Swans were ****ing screwed over!!!!8 of the past 27 is as far as I can go back data wise.

That's because Richmond people are generally honest people and we have a culture of fairness, honesty and hard work. That's how we won 5 flags from 1967 to 1980, how we paid our pennance for the next 37 years and then won 3 flags. We take responsibility and are inwardly looking. Our free kick situation has gotten so bad I actually found myself feeling a little guilty and dirty with that late free kick to Vlastuin that was a bit soft and helped save the game.
It’s honestly almost impossible to think of another game in the last 8-years where I’ve come away thinking a ‘questionable’ umpiring decision at the right time gave us a little leg up.
Imagine having things go your way for entire games or even seasons ..?!! Wowsers … we get one little thing go our way at the right time once in a blue moon and I feel guilty so bad has our umpiring plight become.

Yup...on the edge...on the edge of the umpire's ready to blow whistle!“It’s the way we play”
Me too. Happened right in front of me and when the umpire below his whistle I closed my eyes only to heart the cheering and realise we got it. Amazing. Our free kick situation has gotten so bad I actually found myself feeling a little guilty and dirty with that late free kick to Vlastuin that was a bit soft and helped save the game.

That's staggering as we lose the free kick count by 2.5 per game on average. That discrepancy compared to our next rival is basically suggesting there was foul play by the AFL to destroy our run of success.this is the differential ladder from 2018 to 2023
Worst differentials
1 - Richmond (-331)
2 - Hawthorn (-143)
3 - GWS Giants (-117)
4 - Sydney (-102)
5 - Gold Coast (-43)
Damn we must have terrible players that is twice as bad as any other club....nothing to see here
Of course no accounting done for the frees not paid.
