Against the 'best' midfield in the comp, we won centre clearances 13 - 5. We lost that game due to our bottom end talent playing to their talent level and our emerging talent not being ready yet. We'll be right.

We are playing low scoring contested footy. We’ve seen this before, it doesn’t result in ultimate success. The AFL hate it, they are doing everything possible to have high scoring free flowing games. Bit by bit it fatigues the players. If we put the eagles to the sword by 6+ goals I’ll eat my words, but the players won’t be able to flick the switch so easily and score.

This 100%. I watched the game in Thailand with my Thai stepson.
He loved the game by the way , but had to constantly explain the difference between two sides in close pressure games like this is the B grade players in your team.

Pointed out Erasmus costing us three turn overs in the last when he should be an impact player., Hughes two turnovers when we had players free and he had space and got caught.

You had Walters who unfortunately needs a rest… maybe for a longer time . His opposite in Rioli showed you want we are supposed to have in our forward line where Walters plays. He could be ok this year maybe if he rests periodically , but not sure if it’s already closing now.

Banfield kick selection twice surprised me in the last because he has been good and Johnson also not a good kick selection so his banana but that didn’t surprise me.

I wish we had Viss available for Taberner.

Emmett having the role playing running around applying crazy pressure is fine. The problem is when your other smaller forwards are a cooked Walters (peeps, he literally can’t get to a contest he so slow), Banfield who went right back again and Switta who can’t kick goal. The talent under 190cm is just horrific.

We can support MAX two of the those names, 4 loses games

Basically every single resource needs to be spent on any player that has any kind of goal sense because we dominating from the backline to the midfield and missing 3 goals a game from anyone of any kind of talent up front

Massive overreaction. We, against two finals teams in Carlton and Port, lead both of them for long periods and lacked composure near the end. All without our main ruck and most of our KPD depth. We should have won at least one of those games but the season is far from shot

Those teams just gave everyone the blueprint to beat us. If we can't conjure up a quick goal when needed we won't win any close ones
