I'm getting pretty f****** annoyed at people attacking our players when clearly unjustified.

Port were getting kissed on the d*** all through the last and most of the frees for Port weren't there. Meanwhile, the high hits, htb against port were ignored.

Blame the truly guilty...the AFL.
it's made me put a lot of 'supporters' on ignore

This board has already made their minds up on Erasmus and Johnson.

Mind blowing really

There is a difference between not thinking they are good enough and thinking they are not good enough yet. There is nothing wrong with letting them develop at Peel. Look at Geelong. They let their young guys develop in the VFL for 2-3 years and then bring them in.

Actually proud and pumped for this team, for the first time in a long time.

On top from the start, control games away from home, missing two key defenders, number 1 ruck and medium forward. What more can you do?

Bring Darcy, Frederick in. Back Johnson and Erasmus. It’s going to be positive coming up

Nope.
Who plays then? JOM and Brodie? Sorry, but MJ and Erasmus can match their output already and improve

Low scoring does. not. work. Didn't under Lyon and won't under JL. Other teams can go when they need to. We can defend but at complete expense of any scoring ability. We're robbing Peter to pay paul and look like we aren't inept
Your take is too simplistic and just plane wrong. RL would have 3 flags if not for unlucky bounces of the ball (saints) and poor (dogshit) kicking (freo). Low scoring is fine but you need to be efficient. We butchered our opportunities up forward when we need to score. Simple. Poor kicking is poor football. You think we’d learn after 2013.

I have never been more sure this team has the talent and guidance to do something good in the next 6 years, I am also actually devastated at the last two weeks.

I’ll probably calm down tomorrow

maybe even Karl?

MC seems scared to drop Johnson for some reason which is pathetic.
Erasmus is going nowhere as a player and won't find his ground if he keeps coming on in the heat of the game.

Both have a lot of development to go but feels like it's being stifled with their selections. Don't care what anyone thinks, the evidence is there today.

Fair enough on Jackson’s game, which was crapola, but yeah nah, not the reason why we lost that game. The real reason is missed opportunities in front of the goal which we still manufactured despite few players having a pretty bad game.

People can defend Banfield, Hughes etc but the fact is theor brain fades cost goals (goals not kicked and goals conceded) and just one of those canceled out we win the game, simple.
The real reason is lack of composure after we were up. When Port kicks a behind and we can't exit our d50, that's where we lose, and that's where we lost last week before the umpires got them over the line. When Bergman is out marking Jackson down the line who can't even force a contest or get it over the boundary, that's where we're losing the game. When we have a centre clearance and Jackson gets walked all over by Soldo and Port go straight in that's where we lost the game.

We could've won the game with 9 goals. Port did.

You don’t really get it
1 small forward doesn’t change anything

Amiss is going to be lucky to make it through the season without a serious injury , be surprised if he didn’t bruise or crack some ribs tonight , the kid is playing on gorillas and isn’t KPF size

Push him up the ground and give him space and watch the goals rain while a proper big forward plays the contested marks role

Trade Erasmus for a good small forward, I think he is going to get sick of playing Peel anyway
We compete fine in the air. Where we don't compete at all is ground level. Once the ball hits the ground we have nothing.

Most premiership clubs don't get the majority of their goals from gorilla key forwards. They get them from a spread of midfielders and forwards. We don't have mids and small-medium forwards kicking goals.

Nah not doing this again. s**t happens. We weren’t good enough tonight.

Robbed last week though
Plenty good enough,, shite kick in strategy after behind, carrying sticky fingers Tabs, Hughes and Son Son.
Alex, Luke R and young Josh enormous. Young just does it. Team playing for their coach, just need tweaking and we beat anyone.
Amazing turnaround.
Congrats Jlo.

Honestly, was expecting to be pumped the last two weeks. Two top 4 sides. With three elite forwards and even better midfields. Split even in defence and midfield.
We’re going to lose some. It’ll hurt but let’s go 6-2 and soldier on.

We beat them by 100 last time we players them and kicked the best part if not more than 100 in our first 2 games of the season.

I think is playing this manner is JL compensating for a lack of personnel in the game plan.

We block it up to protect Draper being exposed too much as a young key defender and to compensate for a lack of forward pressure that should improve with Tabs out and Freddie back.

They are better this year, Yeo and McGovern in form. I hope I’m wrong, but when you are trying to shut it down rather than score, you start to lower yourself to the standard of the opposition.

I would say their brand of footy makes them better than us but I see your point
GWS has so much talent until the finals - I believe it's because their oppositions have always been teams where they genuinely play with their hearts because it means something in that state. This is why Sydney and GWS do really well during the season but choke in finals. Just my thoughts :)
