I don’t have the heart to bag the team tonight, not with the real life loss they’ve just had. If us as fans have been affected, what about these guys who’ve played alongside him? The show must go on, but I’m not surprised if a good lot of them are mentally off. Give them a bit of grace, they’re human.

That’s what makes this even more alarming.
We aren’t actually playing bad. They are just much better players as a group.

This reminds me of an EPL soccer match where a side like West Ham or wolves heads to Liverpool or Man City, shows loads of fight and heart, but the bottom line is the superior footballers on the field get the win though superior skills.
Goals come easily for Sydney. They don’t for Fremantle.
I dont think it's that dire, it's not llike Sydney have been this good on goal all year, they are shooting really well, we are shooting really poorly. It's like a weird 20% swing both way that has it how it is

The ball has just gone to the swans tonight, spoils, quick kicks just have found swans players

I don’t know how quick the mods are removing things that I’m not seeing but it feels like some overreaction from some. I haven’t seen anything toxic. We are getting pumped, and fans are hurting.
Fans are also hurting because they understand their players are hurting. Most of us would request a day off work if someone we loved died. Anybody who has lost a friend unexpectedly has a shroud of confusion over them for days, and it not expected to grieve so personally.

I saw one female supporter being called a "pearl twirler" for defending players. I think that's pretty toxic..

I agree with this to an extent. I will add a difference is our key forwards are very young. Add that to a lack of small attacking class and we have issues.

There’s more to it. We are also creating entries at angles, and too many of our entries are too slow or stunted so our forwards are running in patterns, multiple leading attempts etc so they will be more fatigued when they actually kick. Sometimes the analysis is too shallow in my view, we see a lot of missed shots and conclude it’ just bad kicking at goal.

There’s been plenty of instances in sport where teams have triumphed through adversary.
