1. MAINLY ...The Eagles peaked to early and went to the finals with a lot of injuries. Sydney had no such injuries

otherwise

2. Hall should have been suspended

3. Sydney (THe Bloods) had home advantage

4. The AFL wanted a Sydney win to promote AFL in NSW, the umpires assisted.

Don't forget that WCE belted Sydney a couple of weeks earlier at Subi.

I think you lost all credibility with this post..

I agree with point 1.

2. He wasn't suspended
3. It was played in Melbourne not Sydney
4. The umpire excuse is old and tired

and your last is a corker you beat syndey in the QF by 4 points. now that was umpire assisted, the umps even came out and said they were wrong. but if thats a belting then you boys sure got belted in the GF>

Well we made 2 prelim finals but everyone knows the major negating factor in saint.kildas lack of success stems straight from the coaches box.

Riewoldt is flying again, carrying the team up forward but what can you do when the coach persists in playing players such as Goddard who are more a hinderence to the team then a help.

Now to your first paragraph, you can pit any spin you like on Fremantles lack of success but the REALITY IS, Fremantle has many problems and many occur off field primarily through leadership woes. Fremantle is a superior side to the eagles yet underperform to such degrees, it's amazing something hasn't been done.

Why do you think Sydney won the flag last year and not the eagles?

Here's a hint.. He's big, he's bald, he's mean, he leads by example and kicks bags of goals most weeks!!

The crows and eagles will never win a flag without a star forward. Funny thing is, 95% of people think these 2 teams are 2 top chances for the flag. History says otherwise.

:)
Do you not remember the leadership problems and other assorted turmoil that occurred to WCE even before the season started. WCE are currently sitting 4-0 they are not going to use off field problems as an excuse for failure. The REALITY IS WCE had far more off field problems then Freo going into the season yet are equal top on points. Reality is good sides find ways to win CONSISTENTLY. A good side may have a bad season once in a while, Freo have had a bad decade! Maybe as a Saint's supporter you can relate to that.

As far as a key forward winning last year's GF is concerned, he kicked 2 goals. The opposition's Centre Half back also kicked 2 goals. I dont think that is a great output from a forward when a defensive player can also produce the same amount of goals.

Could someone tell me what happed to Hasleby? DT related query. He got 24, did he do an injury or was his game just a ball ache?

my two cents worth..

I probably dont watch as many Freo games as other teams, however sat night i watched the Freo and Adelaide game.

Disbelief.

I could not understand how a team could play so poorly, when they have such talented players (on paper anyway) and a stable environment (Connolly been coach for years). Their skill level was not up to VFL level let alone AFL.

If you have Pavlich, McPharlin and Sandilands, why would you not kick the ball long? when freo get possession their first movement of the ball is either sideways or backwards ??!?@?!@??@? KICK IT LONG!

Have I mentioned their skill level? Pathetic.

This is not a stab at Freo - but there has to be something wrong when a club shows no progress after 3-4 years.....

Correct call

No credibility, just a little bitterness

Didn't see the game on the weekend, but long into the forwards was the tactic against the Hawks. Result was ownage. Pav vs 3 Hawks every time. McPharlin chipped in from the side on ocassion, but not much chop. Think some of the Freo midfielders are sick of seeing the ball go back over their head once they bomb it in.

They have Medhurst and Farmer to crumb off the tall forwards... that is what their role should be. If they cant do that, trade.

Has had a bad back for yonks - and groin issues. Usually plays through it. However he got crunched in a rather crude tackle last week, after having the week before off with back probs - and probably shouldn't have played. And it showed. Hopefully he'll be back to his old self soon.

Actually, it's very much the contra.

We love success

Freo loves failure

Is that why you had Ken Judge as a coach and your players seem to like "colourful Northbridge identities"

Get over it.

And i also wouldn't say you belted us in the 1st final at Subi, i actually thought we were the better team on the night and actually shot ourselves in the foot on a few occasions in the last and not to mention the umpires decision against Leo Barry. You got over the line, just

The fact that McManus and Bell who were on there initial list are still in the top 5 players in regards to performance this year must be a bit worrying for there fans.

Not to memntion

Pav's poorish form (No pre season so will get better though)

The lack of impact of the much hyped Sandilands

Midfield getting belted in the clearances yet again this year

Still early in the season though

Ah yes another freo bashing thread, popular aren't we.must be jealousy because we dont expect to win every game or because we know flags aren't easy to get and are too patient or is it our club culture.Perhaps we should turn on ourselves like some of the others.maggies members booing micky at the agm even thou they had the worst injury list(all fine now aye).cats two years ago calling for his head.port turning on williams(The flags fixed it for now).demons on daniher, even sheedy had to fight of essendon members.doggies fans because terry left.Yes maybe it is our club culture after all.

WCE has an 8000 waiting list. If Subi held 50,000 do you think Freo would have more than 25,000 members? And don't forget that the Freo membership is inflated by 7,000 non seat members. Now apart from interstate memberships WCE doesn't have any.

Where the hell did you get that from?
Why would anyone pay $140 for a membership if all it got you was a quarterly magazine and a pin (which is what a non seat membership gets, especially when for about 50 bucks more you get a seat?

You're talking s**t.

Lose to Hawthorn struggle to beat Carlton at home and beat Port Away(who are utterly the worst team in the comp) and suddenly the WA media gets behind them saying they never doubted Freo.

Unfornuetly they were brough back down to earth this weekend and me thinks they will struggle to make the 8 again.

maybe its time to rebuild considering this team can never win a premiership and tubs is just trying to keep his job hindering the clubs chances of progressing.

Freo are a joke.

hehe quite ironic after tonights game hey ? hahahaha :D :D :D

I know you live in W.A but it's no excuse for not using that brain mother natured endowed you with!!

Whitnall is to short to play CHF effectively but has the footy smarts to still be a huge factor in most games. The playing list around him is abysmal, bit hard for him to have an impact when the ball rarely is even in Carltons forward line, hence Whitnall playing CHB for longer periods then he does at CHF.

Look no further then coach Connelly when looking for reasons for Fremantles lack of success.

Brown = 3 flags from 01 to 03.

Go through every side in the last 20 years to win a flag. You'll find a champion FF but generally CHF in every single team.

So i say again Pavlich>Judd in who is more valuable.

:)
the Eagles won two flags without a champion CHF

Why did Freo get a bigger home crowd for their derby last year?

Why do WCE "sellouts" struggle to get 39000 into a ground that holds 43000?

I can't believe you would use that first point as an argument. The reason Fremantle get higher derby figures is because after their 32,000 have come, the Eagles supply the other 11,000 so the game reaches capacity. At the Eagles home games, the Eagles supply 39,000 and the Dockers can't fill the rest of the stadium.

And secondly, 16 of our last 17 home games have had crowds of over 39,000. The one that missed out was 38,558 against the Bombers in terrible conditions and you have to go back to Round 18, 2004 for the one before that.

Yeah...whatever you reckon

BTW Treasurer, this threads really come back to bite you on the ar$e. Fancy your beloved Saints going down tonight to the "worst team in the league."

Even Freo didn't do that.

No they're not, the coach is the joke, not the players.

Well, well, well.

Yes, yes they did. Freo managed to beat Port away.
