From the following group of full forwards / spearheads, which do you think is:

a) just the plain best of them, and

b) would you permenantly swap your club's for one of them effective immediately (this may not necessairly mean you think they are the best, but a better prospect for some reason than what you have now)

The Contenders

D. Bradshaw
T. Hentschel
B. Fevola
A. Rocca
M. Lloyd
M. Pavlich
N. Thompson
Q. Lynch
B. Hall
D. Neitz
M. Williams
B. Johnson
F. Gehrig
N. Ablett
W. Tredrea
M. Richardson

Personally, I think the best of them is Mathew Lloyd.

Which (if any) would I trade Lynch for?

Fevola - only 25, so if I'm going to swap a 23 y.o coming off his best year, I don't want to swap for an older player who I may only get 3 - 4 years out of instead of perhaps another 7. He plays Subiaco really well and kicks from angles beautifully which is an advantage with the pockets at Subi.

Would also swap Lynch for Pavlich but probably none of the others. I am NOT saying he is any better than any of the others, but most of them are late 20s or older, so again no value in swapping a 65 goal a year FF for an 80 goral a year FF if they only have a couple of years left in them.

You wouldn't swap Rocca for Pavlich??

Pav is one of the best players in the comp. Easy top 10.

Rocca is dogs poo.

I would take Pav in a flash for lloyd. Age being the major factor.

i would trade lloyd for pav and then get lloyd to retire and then redraft him ;)

Being that we have Jono Brown would not swap him for anyone. Strange he wasn't in the list:rolleyes:

However from the list would probably swap Bradders for big Fev or Pav.

I'd rate Lloyd the best, and keep him as such...

Hypothetically however, if he wanted to be traded, Brad Johnson or Mark Williams would probably be best for us. With Lucas, Johns, and Gumby coming in, we don't need another tall forward.

Actually wasn't sure whether to include Brown or Bradshaw for Brisbane, I went predominately with the FF for each side, except Hall, Pavlich and Tredrea who despite not always being the designated FF kick a large portion of the team's goasl and are considered the spearhead. With Brisbane, no doubt Brownie is the better player, but Bradshaw could lay claim to being the true FF??

My first choice is J.Brown - but he isn't there. Second choice, and clearly the best pure full-forward in the competition is Fevola. Both still young, both in their prime and with a lot of years left.

Having said that, I'm happy with my own club having either Nathan Ablett or Tom Hawkins as FF. Both are very young so if they make it they could provide what we need.

pavlich or brown. the rest only have a few good years left in them. pav has another 10 and i think hes just ahead of brown due to his consistency. Id like to see pav play forward now all alone with one defender hes gonna go berserk. id choose fev too but his out of field misdenamours wouldnt be good especially wce has had quite a few of em.

Mark Williams is only 23! Nathan Ablett is not yet 20, and Fevola is 25! You saying that they all "only have a few good years left in them"?

Williams is coming off two 60+ goal seasons; Fevola is the current Coleman Medalist & Ablett has hardly played enough games to justify his inclusion in this list (but given Geelong's dearth of current goalkickers, I guess someone had to be included).

Okay ... I know some Wee Girls supporters can be arrogant and narrow minded, but ... hey - we'll see on these guys, shall we?

wait wait wait. firstly i didnt see mark williams and 2nd hes a small forward and i can tell you one thing we will never go back to the phil matera days and thats why i chose a pavlich or jono brown over the rest. also i didnt choose fev cos of his playing attitude in the past and his incident this year in ireland as our club is already got a sticker from a lot of other supporters calling us criminals etc etc. I made a mistake with his age.

Oh by the way dont bloody jump the gun on me or any other wce supporter. the majority of us arent wee girls what you think we are.

Fair enough - he's obviously that small that you didn't see him hiding away towards the bottom of the list! :D

You've got to admit there are some bloody idiot supporters (from many sides) who post here - although atm there seem to be considerably more WCE idiot (mainly bandwaggoners, I'd bet) supporters than those from other sides - geelongcrazy_26 is a notable exception!

I wouldn't mind Lloyd. It would be strange seeing a Pie forward being paid so many frees even when he's taking a dive.

Would take Pavlich without a doubt.

Seeing as Richo only has a few years left in him, I'd take Pavlich and Brown in a heartbeat. Would certainly consider Barry Hall too.
Don't think anyone else is worth it to be honest. Lloyd has a question mark over his fitness, Fev has a question mark over his temperment.
Williams? Give me N. Brown anyday.
Lynch? Overrated, one-trick pony.
