?I know we had success with the Dimma way once, but the road there was super bumpy early on. Those first run of finals losses were awful - realy embarrassing losses - and 2016 was a utter shitshow. That was why 2017 was such a HUGE shock. I don't know what our odds were at the start of the season in 2017, but they would have had to been 100-1+ - it was a dramatic swing to success & we had a lot of nifty pieces all come together at a perfect time. I am not sure what you can replicate from that journey?

To me the bricks to our dynasty was built on high quality prospects combined with being high quality people. Dimma was a high quality person during this tenure ( i obviously feel that changed over the hub ), but the team was built on Cotchin,Dustin & Rance. These 3 were not just generational players, they were exceptional people and leaders too. Its a rare mix. Those were the 3 names that we got all around the same time that changed this club, forever. Pick 2,3 & a priority pick 18. Beyond that, we also had Edwards, Riewoldt, Grimes, Astbury, Vloss - all guys taken with good picks in drafts a bit earlier - but also fitting that rule. Then we did some SMART deals with Grigg & Houli -= again 2 just exceptional humans - leaders of the highest order. We were collecting a type of person who became "The Tiger Ethos". It was such a ragtag bunch of interesting people with spiritual beliefs & strong traits in building family & community.

I thought after 2021, we had the right idea somewhat in that we got 5 picks in the top 30. The style of player we chose to recruit with those picks was bizzare really, nto really pieces you can "build around", just role player types. The decision to get Tarrant really worried me as the 2nd year was clearly a massive reach & last off-season was a disaster in motion. The strategy Dimma played post our flags, which is the era Mini joined the club, the rebuilding & recruiting strategy has been pretty poor really

17 teams would give their left nut to have experienced what Richmond supporters have in the last 8 seasons. And even dating back 2 decades we are going pretty well.

Toddler tantrums are probably not warranted gjven 8 supporter bases haven’t seen a flag for 20+ years.

Toddler tantrum? Grow up man. You gloat about 3 flags but forget it took us 37 years to get there. I dont want the club to be in wilderness for 20-30 years like you do!

Shit melt by Captain Hindsight. This is the absolutely toxic mindset than you can't 'waste year's you've either got to be contender or rebuilding. Facts are you spend lots of time between this too.

You're literally starting the counter from our last flag as 'wasted'. So you think we should have won a a flag and culled the list in the office season? Just like when they left the field with the cup tell them they're gone.

Such a nonsense hindsight response. Facts are we have a dynasty team. This is a once of a lifetime team. You do everything you can take every chance you can. You don't give up and restart with a team like that.

You're also in another false mindset about rebuilds. Rebuilds fails ALL THE TIME. We full the list and bottom out and we could be there for another few decades, there's no certainty we bounce back yet in your mind it's that easy.

Honestly sad how absolutely spoiled and entitled some supporters are. Oh no weve gone 3 years without winning a flag! We only made finals 1 year ago !?!.

Do you not remember the 12 years break of just MAKING finals? Do you not remember how much of an effort and accomplishment it was to make finals at all? And then to win a single one? It took 16 years.....and you are here have a breakdown when we spend a few years as a middle of the road team. Entitled. Spoiled. Childish. Grow up and appreciate what this team has accomplished

It’s 3 flags in 36 years for me so don’t tell me not to worry now it looks like we’re headed right down the path that covered the first 25 years of my life.

We have no first round pick this year
We have no salary cap space
We have average youth
+ our coaches are shit

Yes I’m ****ing worried!!!

We don't have 1 first round pick. Wow. That's what you're worried about ?

I wasn't aware you work at the club. How do you know what space in the salary cap we have?

Average youth is also so premature. Remember when Rance was average youth? Or Edwards? Astbury. Some players take time.
We have a guys like Bolton, Balta and Baker who have 10 years left. We don't have a void of top talent.

Our coaches aren't shit and coaches can be changed easily in the office season. Next.

Your worries are such overreactions. We lost 126-71 tonight. In 2017 Saints beat us even worse 138-71 in a similar dominating fashion. Shit changes fast. Calm down.
 
Teams get old and great players retire. That's footy life really. However, our expectation on our current young group is pretty sad and unrealistic.
Takes time and so the rebuild begins.
Those saying we should have started the rebuild 3 years ago is just showing utter disrespect to our senior players who won 3 flags for us after nearly 40 years of nothing
 
Oh so just cause we havent faced that challenge, we shouldn’t know what needs to be done? Too simplistic! We are carrying players we shouldn’t or cant as the stars fade out

The club was run by clowns for 30 years until Benny took over. Part of that was lack of resources also which we have addressed.

Have faith in Benny running the club and making the right decisions.

Yeh pretty much. How you handle a post dynasty team that's middling v a team that peaked as a middling team is severely different.

With this team it was worth taking every single chance to get another flag. We have ONCE IN A LIFETIME team and some of you are so ready to just cut them all and move and it's like you generally think it's just going to happen again.

Truth is, of we rebuild odds are it won't be successful. Most aren't. How long will it take to rebuild a premiership team? Who knows. How about a dynasty team? Perhaps not in our lifetime.
