Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

I admit I am torn, because I do love what he has done for the club. The drought breaking Premiership, two good finals series. And I love how he is passionate and loves the club and players, whilst sticking up for them. And I was a fan of his for ages, and never liked the over the top hate filled comments by certain smart ass fans.

Yes I do think it is time for a change. But I am livid at the club for not getting him an experienced coaching team, and who knows what would have happened? Unfortunately he will be the one who falls on the sword, whilst those muppets who run the clubs operations will probably stay around. The club set us up to fail, and someone needs to answer to that.
You should be livid at the club. Not only for the reasons you outline but for their folding to outside noise and extending Beveridges contract when there was no need to do so. They foisted themselves on a petard of their own making. If they hadn't made such a hasty decision then the slow unravelling of Beveridges tenure and legacy would be happening in the most natural and uncomplicated of ways right now. It wouldn't be devolving into the sad mess of acrimony that its about to. One where a club legend is going to have to walk or be pushed off a plank that the club never needed to make.

Geelong will likely lose a couple from last night and pull some of their aging stars for a longer preseason. would be the worst Geelong team weve played down there in many years. Bevo could still pull this out of the fire...hope not though

Not sure about other long term members but I have never felt this disengaged with the team and club. I still go and watch when I can (a newborn has made it hard), but even losses now I’m like meh.. (kinda expected).
I think having really little kids is a big factor in the same disengagement for me too. Watching footy shifts way down in the priority list when you have much more limited free time.
Some of the performances this year certainly don’t help though, along with pretty sh*t engagement with supporters from the club.

The thing that sticks with me is Bevo's own words that you shouldn't be in a job for more than 5 years. And yet here we are are. I've probably conveniently suppressed that in recent times ... but turns out he was right ... the first time.

58 year old, no kids and doing housework has had priority over footy for the 2nd half of this year....and almost just as enjoyable as watching the 'Dogs.

For years I have been very vocal (respectfully) at games and even worse watching on tv (less respect lol). This year I just haven’t been that way at all. Been a weird season.

Right now I’m thinking untried coach to replace Bevo surrounded by senior experienced coaches.

Josh Carr, Adam Uze, Blake Caracella, Troy Chaplin on my short list.

Dew, Cameron, Simpson (if he is sacked) on the senior assistant shortlist.

I’d also offer Jack Riewoldt a 3 year stint as forwards coach to prepare him when he moves onto Tasmania.

Previous worst loss I have witnessed as a 38 Year member was final round 2014 vs GWS. That day we were not playing for a finals spot and GWS were not playing to lose the #1 Draft pick.

Probably the worst loss I have seen.
Then the Captain walked out and resigned ‘pig shooting’ the next week.

I will never forget. It was my Princess Di moment. I stopped and vomited out of my VS ute door near Bombala.

Does help that he has a track record of getting his team into top 4 appearances more than just about any other club.

Also helps having the list he’s had across his whole coaching career. I think that somewhat contributes don’t you think?

Scott’s never been challenged with an ordinary list or a re-build. He took over one of the best teams history has ever seen and then topped up with the comps best players and really strong role players. And during that time couldn’t win another flag. Until last year. 10 years with one GF appearance. Which they got flogged in.

Give him the keys to our club and he’ll probably shit his pants.

You’re lucky Ryan Griffen didn’t take a shot at you, mistaking your technicolour yawn for the mating call of a large wild hog.

Kylie Watson- Wheeler spoke in Top Dogs today. But didn't give anything away. Although her expectation was we would crush West Coast today.
I have a feeling she's going to have a busy week
Heard her today and at the President lunches in Ballarat.

Her role as President is to grow the club amd ensure the football department has the funds to ensure we are at the pointy end of the competition.

It is the football Director and the CEO that Bev reports to. It is also who KWW should be getting to explain how we are where we now are. Yes she will be very busy over the next few days and weeks
