Give Beveridge the keys to rebuild our club and 50% of the best 22 will be Footscray hacks within three years.

IT'S TIME TO GO.
As somebody who created this particular account today.

Im disappointed that you missed the opportunity to take the username of Mutiny on the Bevo.

Danny does his thing in a light hearted one eyed fan way. I would like to have heard from KWW a bit more than fluff though.
I think as higher paying members we are entitled to a few home truths.
Maybe I'm asking too much. I'm not sure.
Agree but not really what Danny does in the pre match interviews and not sure that is the right forum for us to ask. However, we should be provided the forum given our contribution which currently we are not so they are operating in a vacuum

Beveridge of 2015-16 was one of the best coaches in the league and that I’ve seen.

Since then he has slowly and steadily began losing the plot.

He is as far away from being the coach that he was in 2015-16 as we literally all are from 2015-16. Although in Beveridge’s case, it’s actual lightyears and not actual years.

The club has given him more than enough chances.

He got the team going again in 2021, to his credit, and was 45 minutes away from being a 2x premiership coach.

Unfortunately for him, there was still 45 minutes to play in that match, and we all know what happened.

It’s arguable he could’ve done more to prevent what happened in that game.

Its not arguable that the lessons of that game were not learnt.

Its also not arguable that the team, which most rate as one that should be challenging for a flag, has been inconsistent at best and horribly mediocre at worst since then.

Lets not forget that our finals appearance last year was virtually entirely due to other teams choking and doing us a favour.

Close win against GWS that if we’d lost would’ve ended us. Then Melbourne do us a solid by winning in the last 15 seconds against Carlton. Then Carlton do us a solid with one of the biggest final round chokes you’ll ever see. We literally fell in at the last second.

And our actual finals appearance? Not even worth mentioning.

We have now, after a season of more or less the same, just lost at home to a team that people are saying is the worst since Fitzroy, with finals on the line.

We face Geelong next week at Geelong - a side that we never beat at a ground we never win at. Beauty.

Beveridge has had more than enough chances. It’s arguable he‘s had too many chances.

The club should stop being in awe of him because he is one of only two premiership coaches in our history, be bold and state that where he currently has our list is not acceptable.

It is time.

It’s more than past time.

We don’t need a re-build.

I think a deep breath wouldn’t go astray here.
3 to 4 quality players with a cohesive coaching group through the club inclusive of development and preparation and we could genuinely challenge for top 4 next season

Yeah absolutely. This group can still and should be competing for a flag. Just needs a couple of talented youngsters through the midfield and maybe another key back.

Beyond that we’ve got a spine (minus a key defender) that should be competing again for the next 5-8 years.

A re-build at this stage would be a massive mistake.

Cut the deadwood, maybe let go of some experience and hit the draft hard. That’s as drastic as it should get.

One thing we have to take into account in a good way
Is that Ameet spends a lot of time around the players and the supporting staff

He's one of the most hands on in terms of doing extra support and conversation with people
There are 2 ways of reading that. There's the positive light in which you're casting it, and then there's the Machiavellian light which those of us who've been around a while know well enough. TBF, I'm in no position to judge. I just know from experience that alternative lights exist.

If some board members/key stakeholders in the club were pissed off last week, imagine what that performance will do…..

The decision to extend Bevo was ludicrous at the time. Anyone involved in that should be held to account, and then Bevo should be paid out.

If they’re worried about the cost of paying him out, they should think in terms of memberships that won’t be renewed if he stays. Let’s say it’s $2m - at an average of around $400 a member that’s 5000, or $500 a member it’s 4000.

It’s not outwith the realms of possibility that membership drops that much if he remains as coach next year.
When Tom Boyd left and agreed to release the club from a huge liability to help our salary cap Bevo was rightly effusive in his praise.

The benchmark has been set. Bevo is a good man and would walk into a new role as a director of coaching or similar. I hope he can follow the outstanding example Tom set about being a good clubman.

I think what’s being shared by some suggest that it’ll be a few new assistants regardless of what happens to Bev.

They did say the same thing last year which ended up being Lade and no one else

Last year the club said there’ll be some changes to the coaching group. Which there was.

We’ve got ITK posters this year telling us shit has hit the fan behind the scenes and we’re desperate to make changes. I think we can safely say it will be a decent shake up.
