Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

I am stoked. With Pratt and Egan joining Lade we now have the making of a decent footy department. This can make a massive difference.

Fascinated by Egan's role: "This newly created position will closely support Senior Coach Luke Beveridge in a coaching capacity and will oversee the development and growth of the entire coaching team. The position will also see Matthew perform a range of administrative functions in supporting Executive Director of Football, Chris Grant, on broader football program activities."

Reading between the lines it looks to me that he will report directly to Grant, and have a critical say on the key aspects of the footy department.
Much needed buffer between Grant and the coaches box.

So judging from Ameet's email, it doesn't seems like Egan will have a match day role and is more or less there to take the load/support both Bevo & Grant.
Not sure how you come to that conclusion from this statement -
"Matthew Egan has been appointed as the Club’s Coaching and Performance Manager. This newly created position will closely support Senior Coach Luke Beveridge in a coaching capacity and will oversee the development and growth of the entire coaching team"

He'll be balls deep on match day wait and see.

Yep, reads as senior of all assistants and in line with Bevo in terms of coaching influence. It could even be interpreted that he sits above Bevo in terms of decision making and man management especially in a coaching sense regarding the other coaches.

As for the deletion of Webb’s role, it may be because clubs are moving to a model of less line coaches and more phases of the game being coached. IE; defensive system, offensive system, stoppage coach.

Would like someone to have their hands on set plays, whole ground setups and oppo analysis as a genuine full time role though.

The goal kicking coach is likely to be an ex tall forward one would assume who is in the payroll part time.

While I feel bad for tipping into the negative response to what seems like a good step forward off field for the club, is anyone else a little underwealming at these changes? No new forward coach and no head of strength and conditioning yet?

Patience, Grasshopper...

The winds of change are often a zephyr, rarely a gale.

No head of strength and conditioning YET.
The club advertised this role and applications closed last week. Give them a chance to look through the applicants and have some interviews.
I get that people are desperate for news now, but feck me, this isn't something we really want to rush given how crucial a role it actually is.

Yes, aside from finally getting in someone that pretty much fills the gap left by Maple we've replaced Smith with Pratt (which could be good) but it's not exactly a big change and would have expected at least a new forwards coach and a replacement for Webb (unless you consider Egan that replacement but I'm not sure I do)

Won't be Tory, has no desire to coach last I heard.

Barry Hall in as a specialist forwards coach would be, oh, so sweet, but also last I heard his back on the Gold Coast living his best life.

Akamanis anyone? ;)

My post from the Non-Bulldogs thread:

There's a chat group of industry insiders listing a litany of his extra-curricular activities - I'm not privy to it but a mate who is said it keeps growing. He also says it isn't necessarily unusual behaviour by a 26yo cashed up player - just that it would take several other players combined to match Oliver's list!

Agree with set plays etc etc

Want someone with some real good tactical knowledge and acumen

So the update many were calling for has (finally) arrived.

I still can't believe I Ameet didn't put out weekly updates since our season completed...

I’ve emailed the club asking for a WhatsApp group with Ameet reporting to all members
