I was a little concerned about him too until you bought up he was at GWS this season.
There’s really a lot of factors with regards to injury list that it’s almost impossible to pin it on one bloke. You have the rest of the medical staff, you have bad luck, you have players prone to injuries etc.

Our training and recovery facilities will be immeasurably more professional this year, too. Cannot underestimate the effect training at skinner, using a cafe as a gym and using local pools etc had on the ability for our guys to easily recover and properly prepare their bodies.

Stop getting me hopeful for next season.

West Coasts have been worse. I think the Optus might have something to do with injuries in WA
Probably also the horrendous amounts of travel they have to do. West coast offset it by upgrading their players and spending dollars on comfort. Not sure what Freo’s policy is but they probably don’t have as much cash to splash.

Can’t underestimate the effects of a cumulative 9-10hrs a weekend, every second weekend on a small metal tube in the air.

Happy with the appointments. Definite blue collar theme re: coaches. Just the goal kicking coach and we are done. I have been a critic of Spangher, but he must be well regarded internally, so happy to give him another go.

Hopefully the coaching roles are clearly defined and we have a clear vision on how we want to play, with a strong focus on defense and fitness.

Regarding club leadership, we got the review and overhaul a year too late. I think they gave it lip service last year, but have addressed areas of need this year and provided the coach with the support he needs. I'm willing to give KWW, Bains and Grant the chance to redeem themselves. Communication could have been better at seasons end, but they got it right in the last 2 weeks.

Up to the players now.

Going to be an interesting watch. I thought Bevo was done at the end of the year and looked exhausted, so I hope he is refreshed and energised. It sounds like he has been consulted on all appointments, so no excuses for us not to be one of the contenders in 2024.

Renewed my membership today !

The high performance manager is the equivalent of the coach and head of strength and conditioning is the equivalent of an assistant coach. So you can really only assess his job at the Giants to what will be undertaken at the club.

Why the Eagles and Freo don’t do road trips where they play 2 games every trip reduces their travel to a maximum of 6 trips per season. Two weeks on two weeks off. A different lifestyle but they could make it work. Even just do this a couple of times?
