Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

I love King but if we’re moving on from Bevo I’d want someone completely fresh to the club

Can see that point and fair enough.

Problem is I have zero faith in the club to even get to the point of making a decision to move Beveridge on. I just don't see it happening. Massive egos and pride on the line and it's dragging the whole club down.

I feel I'm being objective with this assessment: a survey of AFL coaches ranking each other would easily have Beveridge in the bottom six (probably bottom 3, maybe wooden spoon).

Next week Lobb in for Tim and bad luck if Tim cracks it playing in the magoos..
Also Libba’s gotta be under a cloud with his “stumble”..
Garcia also in..
Other outs.. Grant (for good!)

Lobb hurt his ankle so he's doubtful

I mean if we don’t do this trade we don’t have Sanders.

We desperately needed a young midfielder and we got a good one by the looks of it.

I’d still do that trade at this point.
We'd probably get a midfieder equal to Sanders with our first this year.

If we had forked out one of those picks for Croft we'd be in a much better position to add depth for the future.

Just another baffling and incompetent move by the club.

Essentially, we used Brisbane’s first on Croft, and our 2023 and 2024 firsts on Sanders. Had we not made that trade, our best case scenario would be getting Darcy Wilson with our first and matching Croft with Brisbane’s first. Wilson, Croft, and our 2024 first in place would have been good.

Another possibility would be a team like Essendon spite bidding on Croft, we pay our first for him, and Brisbane’s first comes somewhere around pick 28. We end up with Croft, whatever midfielder we can find at that fairly barren stage of the draft , and our 2024 first rounder. Less good a deal.

i didn’t like the future first trade at the time. Let’s hope Sanders is worth it.

How could the same board that gave a two year extension to Bevo sack him after round 5

Sunk cost fallacy?

I don't think we sack Bevo straight away but I'm doubting he sees out the year, and if we miss finals he definitely not coaching next year.

This isn’t correct at all.

Picks 10 and 17 would have been swallowed up by the Croft bid.

In reality, we gave up the F1 at the time (this year’s pick) to jump up and pick Sanders.

The bid for Croft came after pick 10, unless your saying someone would have bid on him earlier to force our hand which was certainly a possibility.
