it’s a cult. The only explanation for the haughty defence of a man who has absolutely ****ed us these past two seasons, this year in a really outstanding manner.

No fair minded person is looking at it and thinking he is the right man for the job at this point. Its madness.

Last night they were all doing victory dances, exulting their Mastermind for his masterpiece against Geelong’s VFL team, banishing the haters, having been vindicated in glorious fashion for their unwavering belief.

I’d be OK if it was just fans who had decided to sniff The bloke’s jock strap as if it were a holy relic, but there are people in the club and on the board who revere him at that level too. They’re ****ed and they are dragging us all down with him.
Wow you really overrate this list and list management team. Unless we pull two young guns out of our ass we will be crud for years

Its time to understand that this side needs to be gutted and we need somebody else to do it.

I think we have the guts of a good team and just need to turn over the stale depth.

Busslinger/Darcy, Clarke and Gallagher should be taking three of those red spots. Smith and Macrae come into that side and couldn’t possibly be worse.

I don’t trust Bev to get the best out of the fringe players any more though. The complete lack of cohesion across the team is galling. Would be pretty hard to come in and fill a role when everything is a mess.

Our injury list has been relatively light. Every club has injuries . St Kilda played a good part of the season without King . Melbourne missed Bailey Fritsch & Petty . Collingwood have had their captain and best player out injured , but they had already done enough to finish top.

Brisbane lost Ashcroft and Gunston …

I could go on ….

Apart from Richards and Jamarra who has improved this season? Not 1 of our draft crop also debuted this season. Terrible season

We've had almost no impact from our last 3 National drafts, apart from JUH this year, a glimpse from Darcy, and a few promising games from Johnson.

Almost nothing from our last 2 1st round picks.

Meanwhile our acclaimed midfield ages and there's serious question marks over Jack Macrae's future. Libba and Treloar entering their 30's. Baz and Daniel have gone backwards and Crozier and Keath have hit the wall.

The upcoming draft is critical and Sam Power - we need you to nail it and we need an immediate injection of talent.

We came into the season needing to fix our backline. We did. We were 7 and 3 then the three best and most crucial elements to that backline got injured. While we were covering those injuries the players covering them consistently got injured mid game. Once that settled down our second best player missed the two most crucial games of the season.

Our list was not good enough to cover these issues. That’s the fact no one wants to here

No it isn't.

By my reckoning the side was once again carried by the usual suspects all season.

Take last nights team for example. In my view the guys highlighted in red have no business being considered for a genuine top 8 side. Let alone one with genuine premiership aspirations.

Indeed, I doubt any of them would get a game with one.

The guys in Green are completely out of form and have not been far from being considered liabilities to the side for weeks now.

JO'D gets a pass given where he's come from and the promise he shows. But we're asking a lot of him when we shouldn't be.

Besides those on the fringes who are for the most part untried and the sure thing of Darcy. There isn't a lot of quality to come back into the side.

We have Macrae who whist still a consistent workhorse. He's a minister without portfolio and just isn't the damaging player he once was and his return isn't going to do much to address the glaring issues apparent in our side.

There's JJ. But the amount of soft tissue injuries that he has sustained over the past few years doesn't bode well for a guy who's athleticism is his weapon.
As much as we desperately need his run carry and poise. I dont think we can rely upon it.

Then there's Bailey Smith...Hes currently A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma surrounded by trade talk.

Thats it.

We've built a reasonably strong spine, but the quality of our half forward flankers and wings leaves a lot to be desired.

Those are positions currently being filled by guys that are highlighted in red and green. And it shows.

We will remain an 8 (because of an elite top end) - 12 (because of everybody else) side.

I said at the half way point of the season that this list has the stink of a Footscray side of old about it.

Just in reverses where our strength is centred on our talls and a few elite but aging ball winners.

Its All Jam. No Olympic Donut.

Its time to understand that this side needs to be gutted and we need somebody else to do it.

We were 7-3 and then had losses to Gold Coast, Hawthorn, West Coast.

We were in control and then lost games against Swans, Giants and Cats.

This could have and should have been a much better season.

The coaching and selections let us down tremendously

Our preparation for the beginning of the season was judging by results appalling.

Not the first time this has happened under Beveridge - love to know the explanation for the performance in rounds 1 and 2?

The fact that we allowed those 2 games to be the “most important games of the season” is the real problem here. We should have banked wins against Sydney and GWS at minimum. We also lost a bunch of other close games.

Using liberatore’ injury as an excuse for hawthorn and west coast is ridiculous.

We allowed jai newcombe to run around free all day and then we did it again with Tim Kelly. Twice bevos blind faith that “our mids will get the job done” has cost us far too many times.

We lost to West Coast at home end of story.

Just look at that game from the time of the plane home from Hawks game to the minute players left Marvel after the loss. Unpack that week and game and will reveal all you need to know.

Why the apprehension?

Just review the above

A coach that was unwilling to rewatch the 2021 GF with the team to not hurt their feelings.

Tells you all you need to know about our preparation under Beveridge

Well coached sides have their bottom 6 players as role players. It might be the shutdown tagger, or the forward whose job is to blanket the interceptor, or the lock down small defender or the pressure forward. They have simple roles week in week out.

Meanwhile Beveridge has our bottom 6 thrown all around the park. JOD is forward then back, Mitch Hannan is inexcusably put at half back. Who ****ing knows which position VDM is going to play. Lobb is wing then forward then ruck then emergency defender. On and on I could go.

Can’t wait for Sam Darcy to be thrown into every corner of the park next season and not allow him any continuity in his game 😒

Yep these are just very obvious in game moves that have cost us games for years and have continued, also letting the likes of Stewart and other interceptors run free in defence. We’re easy to coach against because we’re poorly coached.

For all the people saying our list is shit, well if we make the very obvious in game moves and clamp down on opposition players we win a minimum of 2-3 more games this year and we have a home final, with this so called shit list.

But we didn’t and have underperformed relative to our list. That’s the biggest issue
