Stewart Dew???
Woeful record as a senior coach. A leader of athletes who clearly doesn't look after his own health.
I give up.
Come on mate. He was rated as one of the top few assistant coaches in the league at Sydney before his got his gig as GC coach. The fact he has been a senior coach (albeit, an ultimately unsuccessful one) speaks very well about his coaching ability alone.

Don't be a keyboard warrior for the sake of it.

Admittedly this is only from a 10 min google search but Kornberg’s resume sounds seriously impressive. Is there any actual link to us or just a ‘would be nice’ sort of thing?
Someone mentioned him out of nowhere and that he was looking to return to Victoria.

He might be close with Dew and it might be a bit of a package? He does seem to have a very impressive resume especially with the development of young men. I wonder if he’s looking for a promotion (from VFL senior coach) to more of an AFL assistant role.

Given he's originally from Darley as a junior (have they still got his poster in Pies colours up in the rooms?), were the issues isolated to players not getting a game when they thought they should (the usual gripe of a few at every suburban club), or more significant?
Club I played at there was an issue (well after my time) because the ex-AFL player captain-coaching (allegedly) devoted more time to a player's partner than preparing for match day. Club won flag, player left, coach stayed. Club won another flag. No more issue.
Darley was not a big issue, just a bit different as CB has already said and a few players had issues but knowing one or two of them would not put that on him alone.

Massive issues at Sunshine and heard some interesting things from Deer Park but given its his first year will wait for corroboration.

Also as CB has pointed put has not lasted long at VFL AFL level.

Agree, not many rebuild coaches survive the rebuild!

Many examples of the next coach following a rebuild coach, reaping the reward of the hard work done by rebuild coaches.

He coached a win against us recently......

Or they recognise their issues stem from poor list management and need to boost their coaching group and strength and conditioning before making a judgement on him

You know who else is a failed senior coach and not an image of fitness? Justin Leppitsch. One of the best minds in the game.

Be better.

Dew for forward coach seems good. I hope looking at Cotchin or Shuey to work with Lade. Bruce and spangher if rumors true for development. That leaves someone for defensive coach.
I'd see him more at the other end of the ground, he was brilliant for the Swans as defensive coach.

I’m normally really positive bulldogs supporter but right now I feel like a board level led disaster is on the cards:

- We’ve got a control freak coach who we tried to sack and couldn’t afford to sack because of a stupidly long contract who will now remain our head coach, despite knowing that certain people wanted him gone from the club. Does anyone think this will lead him to being the collaborative adaptable coach we are looking for in 2024?

- we know that some players at some point this season voiced their concern about said head coach to the board, and that other quality players want out.

- said coach is now becoming famous for not working collaboratively with assistants, regardless of who they are, and we’re thinking we’ll fix him by removing his power.

- our board, director of football and CEO have taken it upon themselves to review themselves yet again. So Ameet’s review finds that Chris Grant isn’t doing his job that well, but Ameet and Chris are mates and so Ameet says “chris I need you to try a bit harder buddy”.

- why no f#%^+= external review? Pay as an example, Eddie McGuire and Luke Hodge to find out exactly what’s going on and make some recommendations.

- our allegedly loving and caring coach refused to take a pay cut when the soft cap was reduced, leaving his huge contract taking up all of the money so we couldn’t afford decent assistants. What a heart of gold.

-our president is invisible, no one from the club willing to be a proper spokesperson, and the main guy that represents the club in the media (Bevvo) hates the media and refuses to ever be proactive or positive selling messages the club should be conveying.

Really hope to be proven wrong but as other posters on here have commented I’m seeing small club mentality taking hold again.

Also, as an edit I will say there is still time for the board to come out as a unified group and do a press conference explaining to members where they’ve gone wrong what they’ve fixed etc, and I haven’t given them the benefit of time given that our season did just finish.

How many of those statements can be confirmed as facts though? Some of them are media narrative, some are BF narrative, some are media and BF feeding off each other.

I'm not saying they're wrong, but unless anyone on here or in the media are actually inside the highest levels of the club, we don't categorically know.

Yes, some things we see from the outside, and hear from ITKs, point to them being likely, but there are always different ways of interpreting the same statement, or event, or apparent interaction from a distance between player and player, or player and coach, etc.

As to the board, unless someone like bresker is prepared to challenge, their degree of transparency regarding their decision-making, even if we think rightly are owed some, will be minimal. Boards are rarely, if ever, in the habit of full, or even significant, disclosure to the members who they are meant to represent. It's the AFL way.

External review ? Press conference with Kylie, Ameet, Chris Grant where they totally dispel some of the myths floating around and then honestly tell members where they think we went wrong the last few years and how they plan to fix it ?

Could be good for membership next year no?

I don't disagree with what you're saying, I just think you'll be disappointed when they at best give lip service to the inner workings of the club.

They'll spruik appointments, talk down or ignore other chatter, and that will be it.

I'm also doubtful membership will dive too much. There's certainly posters on here threatening it (I'm considering downgrading myself, but mainly due to cost pressures), but a quick glance at comments on club FB posts will show most are rusted on supporters.

Eddie Maguire to conduct a review?

He fired a premiership coach for an underprepared Nathan Buckley just because he didn’t want him coaching another team.

Without googling tell me who Collingwood, Brisbane, Port and Melbournes presidents are? You won't know most because it isn't there Job CEO/Head of Football whatever weird and wonderful names they call it nowadays are the public faces hence why during Richmonds prime years you saw far more of Gayle then Peggy
