Game Day: Adelaide vs Port Adelaide

Maybe 1 at most, but saved plenty more through brilliant marking and good decision making. You just don't want to concede he has finally found his role in the team do you? Radar was really good tonight.

Reily is shit every week, don't you know that.....

If anyone is any doubt, I agree with BACCS. Reily was great. Why does this board have to criticise a player, regardless of what they do! He had one fumble for the entire match, and had at least 5-6 intercept marks.

Stewart for port... wtf was that.

Chaplin is still running around like an unregistered dog... wtf is Reilly doing if he is supposed to counterbalance this?
I'd much rather have Reilly on our side than Chaplin. Chaplin is the turnover king and isn't a great interceptor, but Reilly can use the ball the majority of the time and intercepts time and time again. Port could do worse than offload Chaplin to Richmond if the rumours I heard are true.

Yeah I thought his intercept marking was brilliant tonight, surprised to see him getting criticised for one bad mistake. But hey, that's the Adelaide board for ya.

Because all posters on this board never make mistakes in their job, so they expect our players to be perfect too... ;)

Doughty must be on really shaky ground after another crap game.
Did you post anything positive for the night? We dominated practically all night without our two key forwards and smalls and won by 58 points. If you can't take joy outta that I really do feel for you.

Dogga certainly didn't have his best game, but he didn't have to really do much either. Just played his role as usual and didn't do a heap wrong.

I did say earlier that Doughty was one of our worst tonight. He wasn't terrible, but if I had to rank all our players, he would be down near the bottom.

I agree with you though, that a lot of posters need to learn to enjoy a win a little more than they do. Winning is good! :):thumbsu:

If you want to search through my posting and it was either last week or the week before where I gave Reilly credit and put my hand up for being hard on him.

But nothing takes away from the fact his direct opponent kicked 3 goals on him, and he was the only Port forward who won his position. I won't count the first goal Stewart kicked because I believe Smith was on him. He also made some errors. If I can be accused of being harsh on him, the same accusation can be labelled at you for being too easy on him.

So by your theory the idiots should have kicked zero? Give him a break. Enjoy the win. I'm sure we are about to take our rightful place on the ledger next year!

I am enjoying the win, immensely actually. But do we just want one big bank fest and not analyse the game?

Reilly was beaten by his opponent, or should we close our eyes and pretend that didnt happen?

Isn't it Reilly's job to be the loose man though? If Stewart carved us up, it was probably Sando's fault. However, after reading his comments about our game plan in another thread, I get the feeling he wouldn't be too worried about it.

So the pear have one good player, Rielly was unlucky but I'm betting he's still celebrating tonight. What do you think Brad Ebert is thinking?(I know who I'd rather be)

Not sure of the point of your post

I'm saying that even though Rielly may have been beaten tonight he is still an important member of a team on the up , as opposed to Brad Ebert who has left the Eagles (not doing to bad ) to join (how can I say) the Afghanistan of the AFL.

So you are ignoring his 5 or 6 brilliant intercept marks? He wasn't ever on Stewart from what I can remember, I'm pretty sure Smith was on him for a while and then Truck moved onto him in the 2nd half; Radar was the loose man all night and played it to perfection. I had no problems with his disposal either and that has worried me in the past, so it would have stood out if it was really that bad. As I said earlier, I thought he was in our bests.

You might want to watch the replay

Have to think that Tex's weeks off have cost him at least 20 goals in the race for the Coleman. Would have been very handy against Collingwood and would have beaten his Showdown record last night. Hendo should have kicked 8! The upside is that other players have stepped up and that can only be good come finals time.

Plus Tex and Tipps (plus Johnnycock) are all going to get a decent spell before we start our finals run (oh S#iT did I say Finals?)

Could say the same to you, because you clearly missed his brilliant intercept marks and the position he was actually playing. But wait, my opinion is wrong isn't it? Play on. I'm not blind, I saw the game and I thought Radar played well, and I know I'm not alone here. I couldn't give a flying **** if the Reilly haters disagree.

Just finished watching the game. Managed to avoid all contact with the outside world.

Jacobs...

Jacobs (needed to be said twice)

Hendo did a great job.

Good learning experience for McIntyre in the last three terms.

Great impact by Martin.

Reilly was good without having a ton of pressure applied.

Talia good. Any kick to his opponent needed to be spot on because he was always right up their cloaca waiting to spoil.

Thompson was Thompson.

Huge effort from the lads to flog them after losing two big blokes... Especially such an important one in Tippo.

Really enjoyed the game. Almost always in control. Second tier players stepped up.

You forgot the pear were shit.

In terms of importance to a side, Talia should have the Rising Star award stitched up.

For us he is a vital part of our defensive unit. Without his workrate and ability to shut down each sides key forward each week we could be struggling to stay in the 8 right now. He is fast becoming an important player for us.

But instead the award will go to some mid or flanker who averages 20 easy possies a game and 80 DT points.
