I was at the game today, I didnt listen to the coverage at the game but hear are my thoughts.
Some teams have a rule to not kick into the forward 50 if they are not in front of the centre. I think this rule would have helped today for a few reasons. Our disposal was poor by hand and foot, and quite often, we had a small as a target up front in Zaha or Monfries. This might work more effectivly if you have a marking option in Gumby or Neagle in the square. Gumby was never left one out in the square (at the Lockett end anyway).
Both teams were useless in the forward 50, Freo pulled it together more in the 4th but before then they were not great. We would have been inhilated if they were.
Zaha worked his arse off, not always effective but he worked.
Myers played like he was going to get dropped no matter what.
Pears job today has been overshadowed by the overall team performance
Watson IS the leader of this club. He was not perfect but he is the right captain for us.
Our midfield must improve!! I dont think our midfield lack the ability, I think its purely a form issue or something in their mind. Prismal made some dumb choices today, as did Stanton, they are both better than that.
