I once rang the WA ABC after a game we won, and they were still talking only about the Eagles.

Asked them if they could name the opposition team.

They were highly offended, and spent the next 10 minutes talking about the Dogs.

Then went back to talking about the Eagles...

i mean, it is seriously biased when dick heads like Tim Gossich are still allowed to be a part of the commentary team ! Most biased dickhead going around !

And we have a guy on 774 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter talking about how the Eagles will be on top of the ladder, repeating himself "Ad-Nauseum ! "

Where exactly is the evidence that this team has bought into the game plan?
If they really believe what they are being taught where is it?
I see a confused bunch of individuals totally panicked and without any belief
You can make excuses but in pro sport u live and die on results
No matter what u believe about the coach friend or foe, questions on his performance and the team selection must be asked
sure its rd1, sure u are in perth, sure they have a good team
but at the end of the day application needs no skill just belief
and today we saw nothing at all

very very disappointing....

Pretty short-sighted, I reckon.

It was clearly there on a weekly basis for the second half of last season, with incredibly competitive performances against some top line sides (with a bit more experience, we probably should have even knocked a couple of them over).

While I am disgusted in tonight's effort and result - I wouldn't be throwing the baby out with the bathwater over a Round 1 result.

Maybe, like Norf, they've believed their own press and have duly had their pants pulled down. This will put the acid on them well and truly and we'll get a true reflection of whether we have gone backwards or this is just an aberration in next week's game (against a side that will be equally under the microscope and wanting to put this week right).

Let's hope they learn from this and make amends next week. Otherwise, I'll probably be with you in your train of thought.

Did you ever have the privilege of listening to George G a few years back?

He was the bloke who knew every Eagles players' mum, dad, siblings and friends, and spent most of the game raving on about them.

He was also the one who took offence when I asked who the Eagles were playing
