Gaming headsets are a must buy

So just picked myself up a headset, got myself the Triton AX720s Gears of War edition for $200 at Jb hifi and am absolutely loving it, the sound quality is great and must say it has enhanced my gaming experience already, the bass when a grenade explodes or from a airstrike is exhilarating.

Cant be bothered going through the thread so ill just ask here.

What is the best value for money headset out there? Max budget is around $200.

Thankyou in advance :)

Oops my bad, should have included that. As caMo pointed out in on the PS3 :)

Cheers HBK, ill have a look into them. Is there any online stores which stock them or only eBay? and is there any difference between the wired and wireless headsets? Preferably I would want a wireless one to minimise the clutter and what not, but if need be I would still be happy with a wired one.

Wireless tend to be on the expensive side, usually +$200.

You can buy them straight from Turtle Beach's official seller website, however Ebay will generally be cheaper though.

But they don't have the PX21's with Surround Sound capabilities, only basic stereo sound.

I've been looking to buy a headset and ended up on the Razer site. The shifty pricks have an Australian site that sells a pair for Xbox for $AU199, the exact same pair on their US site are $US129. You automatically get sent to the Australian site if you try to buy from the US site and get charged the $199.

:thumbsu:Picked up one of the Sony Playstation 3 Wireless Stereo Headsets tonight - absolute joke. Mic would not work for Battlefield 3 (or any other game I tried), and it repeatedly interfered with my network connection, kicking me back to the menu. Avoid at all costs.

This is what it is:

EDIT: My earlier comments were unjustified, it has been working fine since this morning. You might have to change the channel of your network connection so it doesn't get interfered with by the headset. Also, you often have to reset it in Audi Device settings, in order for games to recognise that is an an Audio Input device. There is more information on how to set it up ideally online. I just hope Sony releases new firmware soon that fixes the problems caused by 3.70 in relation to headsets. Comfortable, feature-packed and quality bit of kit though, hardware wise :thumbsu:

My mate has one, they arent very loud and feel a little cheap but overall not bad for price considering they are wireless.
Btw px5's FTW!!
Yep, PX5's are very good.

Pricey, but great sound and very comfy.

Today I thought I would buy myself a little somehowpassinguniforanotheryear present for myself. Bought myself a Turtle Beast Px21 headset. Only played a few games before with it and seems great. Very happy with my purchase.

Word of warning.

Be gentle.

I have had 3 go bust on me, 1 personally and 2 for my step son.

With 2 the right ear cup somehow broke and the 3rd the wiring became lose and only sound was coming from one ear.

Great sound, no doubt but the build is a little, fragile. All 3 headsets fell to bits around the 3-4 month mark.

Best of luck.
