I am a Collingwood fan, but didn't have to really think about it

Paul Kelly...IMO he was a slightly better leader, and was more courageous. Brown was more versatile, but I would say Paul Kelly.

Great players comparison thread though!

Truth speakth the man.

I rate Gavin Brown very highly but he couldnt kick to save himself, had numerous injury problems, and was played out of position for half his career.

Kelly had slightly better ball skills, was a better kick, and had a bit more pace. Brown was better overhead, and better at the physical stuff, and better defensive skills although they were both superb in close.

At least Rowdy's a Premiership player, and an inspirational one at that.

Good call Mick. I see a few have given up on Rowdy but then again Kel's a champion as well. I am hard pressed to separate them myself , both have a few weaknesses but their strengths cover those ills to a large degree.
I think a few people forget how good Gavin was and although he had injuries concerns I am looking at this 'at their best' .......

..have to go with Paul Kelly , but it is a very close call . Closer than some would believe.

Yep.

Writing "Leaps and Bounds" and "From St. Kilda to Kings Cross" as well as being an Economics editor for The Australian adds to his versatility.

Actually, seriously, this is one of the more reasonable comparisons. I loved PK for doing the things he did and know that I'd feel the same way about Brown - and I have tremendous respect for him - if I was a Poi supporter.
