More intense rainfall is set to hit the Gold Coast today with the Bureau warning the worst is still to come.

Another severe weather warning has been issued for most of the southeast with the possibility of severe thunderstorms as well.

The heaviest rain is expected to impact the coast later on Thursday and into Friday morning with the Bureau forecasting the possibility of another 250mm over the next two days.

Weird - I can only see the AAMI Community Series on there starting with our match vs the Camries.
Will Kayo work with a VPN? I’m in the middle east and we subscribe to watch AFL.com wondering if it’s worth the free trial with Kayo but not sure if the vpn will work.

Not sure unfortunately, appreciate the suggestion but I'm not keen to use a VPN myself. Will get every other game we play this year so if I can't get it without changing my IP I'll just have to sit this one out and watch replay.

Any fetishists that like to see how the weather looks in Brisbane (or anywhere else for that matter), you can do so with the traffic cameras at this site:

No Williams, Lord, Burgoyne, Schofield, Visentini  , Dumont. Big Sam Hayes is in though.

I guess Dante has been replaced by Hayes. No real surprises though. Perhaps Skinner.

Apparently it will work with a decent VPN here in Dubai.
I've never really bothered seeing for myself as WatchAFL normally shows everything

I asked her about the rain tomorrow re the footy, and she thinks the 100mm for all of Friday that was predicted yesterday, probably will be how much rain they get.

Kyle Chalmers debuting on the wing tomorrow

With 100mm of rain likely, GC should be on a plane flying down here.

Absolute madness to play in those conditions in a practice match.
Especially in an instance where you’re not talking about the inconveniencing 40,000 people who have bought a ticket.

it’s a televised trial game in a state where 12000 show up to a real game on a good day. There will be no crowd.

Just move it to Adelaide you fecking morons

Spoke to my sister on the GC about an hour ago. She said so far the weather hasn't been as bad as predicted earlier this week, and the GC hasn't been smashed as much as the Sunshine Coast has been.

I myself am right on Wivenhoe west of Brissy but have mates and family all over both on the north and south coasts and Goldy at the moment is sitting pretty sweet but the Sunny coast looks like the usual suspects have got wet toes.

How full is the dam there? Are you in its spill path or only in trouble if water goes over the wall like almost happened in 2011.

My sister says the dams on the Sunshine Coast are full and they are spilling water to protect the dams from water going over the walls. She said she thinks the Hinze dam on the GC is full or pretty close to it.

Yeah, nah, Wivenhoe is dryer than…, Somerset over summer has released 2 lots(which feeds into Wivenhoe) and last time I checked Wivenhoe is still hovering around 50% 12 other dams in SEQ are at capacity and are releasing. Wivenhoe is the main town water source for a fair chunk of change, so if (as it hasn’t been) able to capture some of this it’s going to be beneficial.

As others have stated, the system is hovering offshore and is expected, last time I heard, to make land and that hasn’t happened today.
