will all North Geelong people STOP using the we beat Nth Shore line it was a practice match. I watched both teams over the weekend and Nth Geelong wouldn't come close to the side that played saturday.

The facts are that in a normal game (non practice match) the best GDFL side wouldn't get within 10-15 goals of the worst GFL side.

I'm not having a go at the GDFL, just stating the truth (I'm more of a GDFL follower than GFL too for what it's worth)

i agree that Christie tipping them to come last was harsh, but c'mon mate you'd be lying if you said you expected North to start as strongly as they have and if i can play the Devil's advocate for a second they arguably haven't beaten anyone yet.

Inverleigh - won't get anywhere near finals

Corio - completely understrength and underdone when they played North (and right now there are questions over whether Corio are even in the best handful of sides in the GDFL)

Blue West - i'll be able to count their wins with a couple of fingers by seasons end.

i'm definitely not bagging North Geelong because i'm really impressed and excited by their start, but to have a personal crack at someone after round 3 is a bit silly mate. If they beat Thomson, BPH or Banno then you've got an argument.

bph seem to be flowing along nicely
corio have been built up too much an i beleive wont meet expectations
north are a young side i know, but have definantly been under estimated
banno seem to be on fire?
east..just are for now.

And before you all jump on and say I shouldn't be so aggresive or anything like it, I don't give a shit. I am sick of morons listening to that peanut and taking it as gospel. Haami is still playing so obviously he doesn't have any issue with the club. If you have any balls, be at the Den tonight and I'll talk you through anything you would like to know. Well said Spider! He tried to tell that story on K-Rock sports briefs and management pulled it after one phone call to Haami. Why would he be playing if he had a problem? He loves the club and the direction we are heading in. Belmont will be very strong on and off the field in the upcoming years! Good juniors coming through helps as well. Haami is a club legend and a great person. Milky Mahoney is a disgrace and an absolute joke!

1-2 is where they should be. Got smashed in close against Anakie and the rushed behinds were from us not your poor kicking.

Looking at the team Thomson put out in the 1s there was no wonder there 2s got done. No Hyland, Armstrong, Wallace, Maheras, Henry. Costello yellow carded and Vaughn down at half-time and you still couldn't beat them. If you were ever going to get a better chance to knock of Thomson it was last week.

AND before you talk about your win, everyone will beat Blue West.

Bannockburn look the team to beat from the games I have seen, got some quality players around the ball and some bigger bodied blokes who are hard to move & a good mix in of youth. Drake a very handy pick-up, was my best on for Banno on the weekend. Not many people can tackle him.

You seem to have an anuerism every time someone mentions Winchelsea...maybe couldn't get a game there last year and still a bit jaded?

But you're saying Winchelsea should be 1-2, yet you're also saying they should have beaten Thomson considering the the circumstances? Make up your mind champ.

gee was just asking if it was true or not, 2 be honest though i was there satdy and made a point of watching him play cause hadn't seen him play b4 and he played like some1 who was only there 2 get wot he is owed and get out of there, obviously a long way of his league b&f form couple of years ago.

I would like to get some opinions on Winchs start to the season as well from some of the other posters. Not just a one eyed Anakie supporter who has something against Winch and tips them to get smashed by 10 goals every week.

I can vouch that the feeling around the club is 10 times better than last year (not hard to see why though compared to last year). The next few weeks look tough - i think its Banno, North, Werribee and Belmont. Thoughts Winch's chances for the month ahead?
