Re: Geelong and District Football League 2

Not sure reid will be playing this year at all. Didn't he do his knee playing basketball the other day. As for Kitch, most likely to stay at Werribee. If Winch has a chance it's a bloody small one. Love to have em' both back though. Good start to pre season tonight. 32 players. At least the balls rolling. Some good yound types with enthusiasm. There is light..................

I heard that there was no new recruits worth speaking of and that hardly any of the core senior group from last year were there. Have all the core senior players signed on for next year? based on what i have heard on here it looks like a few are either being chased by other clubs and/or looking for new homes.

Re: Geelong and District Football League 2

haven't signed any superstars, but have got an even spread of recruits. Looks as though the youngsters will figure heavily this year down at winch. Have got 4 experienced heads coming after xmas which will bolster the line up. The skank may pull a few rabbits out of the hat in the near future. Looking heavily for a CHF though. Some good incentives on offer too for the top 5 on game day I'm hearing...If reid didn't do his knee maybe he'll don the blues jumper again???

Heard Winch might be looking to tap into the so far fairly untapped Deakin Uni resource. Since they train at Deakin a bit they'd be silly not to go all out with a bit of advertising and maybe a sign up day in o'week of uni...some seriously good players come out of Deakin...

once again good turn out at winch. 25 to 30 every night so far. d greski trained down the house again, ran rings around everyone
North Geelong had a great start to the pre season with there 1st too nights.. wednesday 37 players and monday 41.. b good to see if the numbers stick around!!
hows all other clubs goin 4 numbers?

Re: Geelong and District Football League 2

be interesting how opposition clubs treat Price had a fair to be to say about other clubs continally bagging him the way he talks you would think he has played AFL i know alot of players would have bypassed interleague if he it was on , overated as player and coach had unlimited budget at Winch and did nothing be no different at West!

wat u mean unlimited budget at winch??...firstly winch dont have the kind of money to give a coach an unlimited budget and secondly even if he did its not as easy as you think to attract gun players, especielly gun kids which is what a club lyk winch needs in order to rebuild to a run down dump half an hour away from civilisation

It may haev already been posted but I have been advised that Belmont have picked up the services of the Marcus and Luke Forbes and Doc O'Connor. Good recruits if true.

i would be suprised if those guys went to belmont considering how long they have played at thomson for. I would be more suprised if doc played his to busy with work, but money talks and stranger things have happened, good luck to those boys if they do go and good luck to belmont there all good blokes and lions den aint a bad place either for a beer or 2 (spider:thumbsu:)

Lovely to hear from you DEVILS. The money talks might be a bit of the mark, as our Nazi treasurer won't let us spend any and I know this better than most because I'm married to her. We do pride ourselves on being a great place to socialise and you and the Red and White Army are always welcome for a beer or 3

Marcus Forbes has signed and is helping with fitness at training where the numbers have been good.
Add him to a backline containing Haami Williams, Mahoney and Bagga Edwards and i think some of the blowout margins last year against the top five sides will be greatly reduced! They will be pushing for a spot in the finals.

Good luck getting Marcus to perform down back, not his prefered position just play him there and you will find out. Luke is staying at Joey's signed on for two years last seaon.

I think that you'll find that the majority of senior players have already signed and the rest should be signed up by next week.
there are alot of players returning from previous years and plenty of recruits to talk about.

Has been approached by many clubs but I thought he had committed to Thomson. Should have a crack at VFL I reckon. At least a pre-season with someone...

With 3 Uncles involved in coaching at St Albans, one being senior coach, one would hope he would go there. But anything is possible.

Thomson have a good relationship with St Josephs it appears with so many players going between these clubs over the last 10 years, and with Jacksons Dad being a former coach at St Josephs I'd say he will go there if he goes to GFL.
But St Albans would be a very close 2nd IMO with his former premiership teammate Ross Panther there and his Uncles being coaches with St As.

Also it appears Brett Dowey has left Thomson to play at Drysdale not sure if this has been said in previous posts.
