watched blue west and thomson 2day, thomson by 130 pts. west supporters, players and coaching staff were a disgrace. dont need clubs like that in the comp.
they blamed umpires by losing!!! 130 pt loss, look in ur own backyard west.

After watching Inver vs Anakie 2 weeks ago and then watching bannok vs East this week, the game this weekend between Inver and Bannok should be a really good game. Both teams move the ball through the middle very quickly and made their oppostion look very slow. Especially bannock against east who were just run off their feet from the moment the game started. And were probably lucky that bannock kicked poorly at goal otherwise it would of been over 100 point loss.

Anyone starting to change their minds about were Inverleigh and Bannockburn will finish the season? Thomson appear to be in really good form at the moment.

rumour has it there will be 2-3000 people at the hawks nest this week. i can't wait to see the best match in the leigh district since crerar and woods destroyed the barrabool batting line up. how ironic that two champions who once worked so well as a team will now become arch enemies this week.

Another rumour building on a post from a week or so back about trouble at Winch. Sources say half the club want to do a runner back to Colac league while the rest want to stay. Fracturing club. Any facts anyone
Not sure where you get your info from mate but I'd say going to the colac league would inevitably be the end of the Winchelsea football Club.
I think your clutching at straws and just making up things.
The majority of players are Geelong Based now and most wouldn't travel to Colac. The team trains one night a week in Geelong now so players don't have to travel.
Not sure what you mean by trouble at Winch either (one minor incident isnt trouble) at the moment its a development phase at Winch with alot of players playing their first senior years of football. Alot of players aren't as fit as what is needed and injury has ruled out key players.
Add 3 experienced key position players to the current line up and no doubt the scores being produced by Winch would be alot closer.

the way in which geelong west act during a match is very embarrassing, they will never change!! i didnt watch the match today but ive seen what happens during a belting many times.. time for them to have a good hard look in the mirror. just when i thought they were moving forward seems like there back where they began.

The trouble was an incident at a club function a couple of weeks ago. There was a little dust up between a player and an assistant coach, where punches were thrown, as well as rowdy behaviour and nudity from both sexes on the dancefloor. The players involved apologised at training that week and the club laid down some rules in relation to drinking. All sorted.

This was posted a couple of weeks ago.

R U serious.

Was at Bannock and East game and was suprised how one way it was in the first quarter. Bannock were very well drilled, skillful and looked quick through the mid field (but every side does when they are on top) however the key was the 2 big blokes down forward which allows bannock to kick it long with confidence. After quarter time the game evened out but it was all over and both sides new it.

Ben Naylon is a great pick up for Bannock. He suprised me with how much he has improved since he was last in the league and his ability to play up the ground and do the hard yards means TMG can stay close to goal and also only has to contend with one opponent rather than the 2 or 3 from previous years.

Very impressed with Bannock and for mine they should be installed as the favourite for the flag.

Where's that leave East in 2008?

By the sound of it their window of opportunity was last year and they blew it.

People ludicrous comments that didn't even see the game that make the west supporters the way they were.
If you saw the game you may say different. Stop living in the past.

i happened to be at the game and totally agree with nacnud, it was quite humourous tho watching the bitching and carrying on around there coaches box.

i agree jchawk. this weeks game will be the biggest event in country football since inverleigh returned. Both sides play a fantastic running game and the game will be won with the battle of the fowards. Those who say TMG will kick a bag, wait untill brent Ling mans up on him. All so looking foward to who will match up with kid Hickleton woh is averaging more then 15 marks a game.

I hope you are referring to ball movement, rather than leg speed. I wouldn't say that midfielders of Bliss, Dans, Kollegger, Lewis or Gibbs were blessed with genuine quickness.
Having said that, all are very good footballers in different ways.
Although not very quick himself, is the loss of Chamberlian bigger than first thought?

i dont have to go to a geelong west game to know whats going to happen.. 2 things that you can always expect while watching a west game.. they are most like going to get pumped and their supporters that hang around the box are going to carry on like headless chickens. its the culture of the geelong west sporting club..

The loss of Chamberlain does hurt. With coy and paisley out and your captain tears his calf in the warm up you're up against it. East were blown out of the water in the 1st quarter and Bannock only increased their lead by 15 points after quarter time. Rumour has it Chamberlain could come back to the eagles nest anyway.
As for where that leaves East, who knows, but lets not forget Bannock smashed East last year in second or third last round and then East thumped them by 10 goals in the finals.

Exactly what I was refering to. Bannock moved the ball beautifully in the fisrst quarter just as East did against Winch the previous week and that made them look quick.

A point to note of the midfielders listed only Kollegger and Gibbs pulled on the jumper from what I could see and I understand thats Dans has hung them up after injuring his hand a couple of weeks ago.

i stood about 50 metres away from the box, all we could hear was the whinging, arguing and banging from the coaches box. sure the umpires werent great but it went both ways. the thomson players put their hands up when given away a free kick, west players and coaches abused umpires and 50s were given. and was told after the game, thomson people who went 2 get beers were abused.

Was at the game and only kolleger plays in the midfield, Gibbs also played and plays mostly in the backline. The other 3 you named did not play.
The pace has come from the introduction of the under 18's coming up to the seniors, rowan podhani in particular would be comfortably leading the club best and fairest. Also a couple of recruits have added speed and skill. In saying this though I will still be picking inverleigh this week to beat bannockburn. Mainly because if inverleigh are ever going to beat bannockburn this is their best chance for years and will be up and firing for it. Would be suprised if 2 - 3000 people are there though.

Yes it was a RUMOUR, circulating at North Geelong game a few weeks back. Apparently has been since denied by club officials I heard today. Agree though it would be hard for them to survive

dont know who were worse. the west crowd around the coaches box were a disgrace, the west senior team which is full of undiciplined hero's or the 2 central umpires.

one thing for sure is thomson are class and so is wallace

u r right, wallace and the boys are just class. no need for that in any place of footy. it was just embarrassing. no wonder they get poor crowds. supporters dont need to put up with that rubbish.

Yeah i know what went on but i wouldn't insight it as being trouble it was a case of boys will be boys and had nothing to do with the position of the club etc. If Winch can develop their player base ( the majority are 19-23) bring in some experienced key position players results would be different.
