I know that the GF was covered in other threads but I feel we as Blues supporters need to thank the Geelong Football club for beating those b@stards and allowing us to gloat that the colliwobbles are alive and well.

I do not know about the rest of you but this year has been close to unbearable for me listening to all the feral supporters and how good their team is blah, blah, blah!

Just imagine if they would have gone back to back! I would have left the country .... again!

From the bottom of my heart thank you Geelong!!!

The Cats have done a great service for the AFL and its non-feral supporters. Stand out team for the last five years and deserved three premierships.

P.S. Colliwobbles...lol

I watched Before the Game last night, Eddie and Andrew Demetriou were on, when Eddie sat down he said 'there;s two of us here, one of us controls the AFL the other thinks he does you decided which is which' ...... how;s that for arrogance, AD not very impressed.

So so pleased they were beaten today, because, it was starting to feel like the whole footy world revolved around Collingwood....and they are so NOT humble, so up themselves from the top down.

Geelong, what a superb year a stunning effort by Scott and a deserved winners....Jimmy Bartel..what can you say, one of the all time greats

Loving the Meows. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Dunno if any other oldies would agree, but that last quarter reminded me of 1981. Collingwood just stopped.

Bartel is as good as anyone going around. Tom Hawkins showed that with a little bit of faith from the people in charge, that he can step up.

And it keeps Collingwood anchored on 15.

Come on down Figjam Buckley, lets see how good you are.

1981 do I remember it ... :D ..so yeh I;m old enough to remember

The pies only kicked 2 points in the final term, we kicked the last 6 goals of the game, the mightly flying doormat won the NSM..awesome GF, you;re right very similar ...

Geez might go put on the DVD for old times sake thanks numbers :thumbsu:

Big thumbs up to the Cats on three fronts:

1. Steamrolling the Pies after the Filth were all but over the line as minor premiers with amazing percentage blah blah blah.

2. Winning without an excessive reliance on tatts.

3. Giving us Jeremy Laidler.

I guess the 100 point drubbing and this GF will put an end to all those Collingwood whingers complaining they were robbed by the umpires in the first clash of the year.

Speaking of the umpires, boy were they bad. Thought they gave the Cats bugger all.

Congratulations Geelong in equalling the feat of one of the greatest sides of the modern era Carlton (premiers in 1968, 1970 and 1972) - if you manage to make the Grand Final in 2012 you will be as good as them and just slightly better if you manage to win it. ;)

That last quarter reminded me very much of 1970 and 1981... Collingwood all over the opposition, and they just stopped... they lost belief that they could win it and fell over.

Somehow, I suspect that under FIGJAM next year, they wont be quite as good as they were this year. And I fully suspect that a couple of their big name players, who only signed for 1 year, might be just checking out the new coach and see where things lie come the end of the year and might be on their bikes to clubs that are a touch more stable.

Nice win by the Cats, and another impressive Grand Final choke by the Pies.

Mick's already walked, and now Buckley needs to make the transition from GF Magnet Man to an AFL gameday coach. Big step. Vossy Mk2? Probably.

Reid AA CHF? Are they serious? Gotta love the pro-Collingwood media - they'll say anything to sell papers. There'll be a bit of backtracking and history re-writing over the next few months I suspect. Who knows Luke Darcy might even stop calling every Collingwood ordinary an "outright elite". We can only hope.

Today the Pies met Reality.

:)

'bout time you turned up sunshine.

Your input is appreciated.

Haven't enjoyed a non-Carlton premiership like that since 01. But this was better because I can drink now.
Always had a soft spot for the cats. Thanks pussies!

And thanks to jimmy b for earning me some coin. With the conditions forecast was there ever any doubt?

Pies were a very good H&A side, but in finals talent matters and to be honest they were VERY lucky to get past Weagleland, and the Hawks. They don't bat deep. Their media cheerleaders keep forgetting that they have players like Brown, Blair, Twovey, Maxwell, Johnson etc etc in their best 22. What Malthouse did, was develop an effective, ultra-defensive game plan suited to their list limitations, that's been excellent in the H&A. But once their flood and chip kick along the boundary game plan fell apart, they were opened up as we saw in yesterday's GF implosion. Lots more downside to play out yet at Pieland.

:)

Wonderful victory for Geelong, for so many different reasons.

I was at the game and enjoyed every minute of it. The game was outstanding for 3/4 and then to see the Cats just run all over the Pies in the end was simply sensational.

There are many great things I have seen at the football over the years I have been watching. However there are few that were as sweet as the sight of the mass exodus of Collingwood supporters in the 4th quarter, particularly after Stevie J kicked his goal. Pure bliss - just wonderful to see.

Well done Geelong. The Cats were the better side leading up to the game and deserved their victory without a doubt.

To Collingwood - suck it you bunch of arrogant w***ers. You flirted with injury and it came back to bite you hard on the arse. Ben Reid and Darren Jolly were liabilities yesterday. The former laid claims to one of the worst GF performances I've seen in many years. Not to mention Leon Davis and Alan Didak the great disappearing acts.

What a sweet, sweet victory. Well done Geelong :thumbsu:
