Field kicking was great and I believe we are moving the ball quicker.

Saints and Port were poor with the tackling though, that will be the big test. We seem to be happy enough to kick long and have a contest to kick to when pressured though.

Yes I expected more pressure last night. Some great wins this week but would like to see how we go under some decent pressure. Eagles game gave us a decent insight and I thought we held up for 2 1/2 quarters.

For starters JJ running around in a no contest no tackle 14 on 14 run around scratch match isn't what i'd be pinning my opinions on.
FOG may not be the best kick just like half the side. Hesitant?? i can show snippets of plenty that have been hesitant at times.
AFL standard?? Yeah they are... he is. That's why he's playing.
Clark is a dashing young skinny kid. I like him. A lot. But i'm a realist. He is skinny, weak at the contest and a twig that will break very easily unless he puts on 5-7 kgs of real muscle. Like FOG did one could say??
Just compare apples with apples. Clark vs FOG isn't a comparison.
Sav over JJ everyday of the week.
As for Evans... who is the comparison with?? Atkins?? Rohan?? Close?? Simmo?? Miers?? Each has a role and in some cases more than one.
Anyway.
Cheers.

I know you're a Foggy fan boy but seriously trying to compare what he supposed to do
with JJ is chalk and cheese,
For instance JJ can kick a ball out of sight and 2 fogs equals a JJ.
I'm talking a fast huge forward who goes at a career av of 2 goals a game over almost 150 games.
I noticed when Fogarty tackles he's never catching a runner it's always in a packed area so it's a neutral outcome.
His pace is very suspect, never seen him run down anyone.
Fogarty is a boy scout compared to Clark, that kid is as tough as they come.
Frank Evans as well obviously has impressed the club so far.

Can we all please agree that based on evidence of the last 2 games that there is no way that Jenkins should be playing in the hoops this year?
Nope wont agree. In fact last nights game made it more obvious we need another key forward playing games. Although sav should be ahead of JJ.

at 3qtr time despite dominating play we had only 7 goals. 4 from hawkins and 2 others that hawkins laid off that he could of kicked himself. The one good 10 minutes of play that port had late in the second qtr was when hawkins was off the ground for most of that time. Danger isnt kicking goals up forward despite large chunks of games at full forward. Whilst rohan can chip in with a big qtr he cant carry a forward line. We need someone else to also provide a marking contest up forward in addition to hawkins.

whilst we have options galore in defence and the midfield we are becoming very one dimensional up forward. Hawkins will have bad days. Not to mention have we forgotton the prelim last year? Hawkins was out. That could happen again. We need to be prepared.

Checks fixture...
Hawthorn.

fu**. Well the lead was nice while he had it.

They should probably rest kennedy. Won’t need him to smash the putrid scum.

and for that matter, if we can hardly fit in Ablett, where does Dalhaus fit in?

I don’t think he does. We look better without him. His efforts are first class, but he just seems a shadow of what he was in his best year at the dogs.

Woodcock loves to play for a free.

Haha woodcock.

Port fans are embarrassing. I raised the question on twitter at half time how we couldn’t buy a free for the whole 2nd quarter and they just abused me, said Rohan ducked at the end of the 2nd etc. I then told one guy what he thought about one of there goals that came from a clear duck of the head and he just abused me. They are born special in South Australia that’s for sure
I've always found port fans pretty good. They know what the lean tone feel like and the ones i know are pretty humble about success. Reaction says more about Twitter than anything else.

Crows fans though. Man. It's like half of them don't even know the rules. They picked up all the casual "go local sports team" people and they've been a cancer on their fan base ever since.

Great team win here.

Flogged them.

Got nothing from the commentators.

Saints were poor, Port were Poor.... Brisbane were poor.

But we knocked them all off... never we are any good lol. They are hating this but in the words of Teddy...Stick it right up em!!

Hawkins in career best form.
The whole team is on fire right now.

Credit to the fitness and recovery staff fore keeping them all runing out games.

Menegola, Guthrie, HT, Henry, Bews, Hendo, Fog, MOC, Stanley, Blitz, Rohan all good. Not the A list stars doing all the heavy lifting. Fair to say even the whipping boys firing well.

Just a great team effort and now a 9 day break as well to take breath.

Go Catters

Sounds like Clarkson was in the commentary box making special comment's on Geelong not being that good & our opponents have just been terribly poor on the day.

Love that there's a clip of the first goal from last night - Danger is rightly praised for his kick to Hawkins advantage, and Hawkins ends up with a goal registered against his name

But one player who worked their ass off for no stat, instead just ran hard & did the team thing was Miers. If you watch the top of the footage you see him running through the centre square when Danger has ball in hand & takes his kick; Miers never stops running and ultimately he gets between Hawkins & Clurey to ensure a pressure free kick for Hawkins

It registered no stat, and may seem a little thing but shows we were switched on from the start and the team first philosophy

IMO we win that game with Stanley, he's come back with 3 really solid games:thumbsu:

Miers had a few of those moments, I noticed - very good to see!

Steven, Ratugolea and Dahlhaus will all be playing when fit and ready.
And ZGuthrie is probably the next cab off the rank after them.
Add Ablett to that list when he's available.

Sav and Dahl shouldnt play again this season. Both just seem to bring the team down.

I think with Sav he's a little slow off the mark, can pull down a big mark occasionally but possibly not enough but it sure stops intercept marks which Richmond do well.
On the other hand Jenkins is more like Hawkins both fast off the mark and physically very strong.
I reckon we'll need him, Tommy's going to be double teamed every week from now on you can be sure.

Ratugolea was going to play this week until he pulled up slightly sore on Thursday.

For starters you haven't even seen JJ in the hoops that's just a totally baseless comment, last week he impressed (go to club website).
Fogarty carn't run carn't kick and is hesitant,
up to the last qtr had 6 possessions.
I don't think he's AFL standard, on the other hand Clark is a young star in the making imo no comparison.
I thought Clark look fantastic before being unfortunately injured but no worries ready to go again.
I'd like to see Evans as well, hope he goes well today too.

It looked easy - it was hard
It looked lucky - It was clever
It looked simple - It was skill
Port looked flat - Port were overwhelmed
Port looked mesmerized _ Port were ineffective.
Like an illusion that we outnumbered them.
Like magic we popped up in perfect position
Things are not always what they seem
It wasn't a magic spell it was an effective plan
It wasn't telepathy it was clear understanding
It wasn't slow tempo it was quick short play.
It wasn't individuals it was working as a single unit
It wasn't good form it was good player management
It wasn't a quarter burst it was maintaining momentum.
It wasn't a good win it was soul crushing.
Brilliant.
